The second most humiliating moment was being found by Levi.

I wasn't thinking logically when I decided to hide away at the police station but I didn't have another option. There was no other place for me to go.

Sterling was still at the house and I didn't want to be there when he woke up.

I couldn't go to Sienna or Imogen because they would take one look at me and would have a ton of questions themselves.

I came to the one place where I thought I wouldn't have to explain myself and someone would just listen.

I wanted to talk to Levi.

I knew I could talk to him.

I knew I would be safe there.

I knew it was risky going to the police station of all places. They'd see right through the lies I knew I would tell but maybe not Levi. He says he wants to help me and I hope he can, without asking questions.

I kept my face hidden under the hood as I remained in the fetal position on the floor. "H—hey you." I stuttered in a shaky voice.

"I was expecting you later," his brows pulled together, "And what are you doin' in here when it's locked? How'd you get in?"

"I snuck in when the janitor was cleaning up."

"Did you just confess to breaking and entering? Maisie, you can't just break in."

"I know. I'm sorry.

"Get off the floor," he said, motioning me to stand up. With a frown of disappointment he added, "You know, Maisie, I don't know what I'm going to do with you. You can't be breaking in and then admit to me, a fucken police officer that you ----"

Was that the first time he cursed? Well then.

"Levi, Levi will you just shut up and help me up? If I could I'd be already standin'."

"Why?" He asked hesitant.

"Because I'm, broken. Just do it," I hissed, a tad agitated now.

"Answer this first. Why can't you get up yourself?"

"I told you I was broken. No more questions." I pleaded, "Just help up. Please."

I couldn't make out what Levi was mumbling to himself but at this point I just wanted to get the shock of my injuries over with.

He'd eventually have to see.

I held out my bruised arms hoping that he'd grab hold of my hands; instead he cupped my elbows and slowly rose me to my feet.
