Levi's cell phone went off, the beeping sound echoing loudly through our hotel room.
We ultimately decided to spend the night at a hotel until we figured out what we would do about our current living situation. Levi didn't want to kick his mom out and I wouldn't feel great about that either.
She did deserve it.
---But I also know she loves her son and only wants to protect him.
It's honorable.
Levi's cell went off every few seconds and curiosity was getting the best of me. I wanted to know what girl was obsessively texting him for a booty call. I wanted her name, number, and an address.
Beep.
Beep
Beep
Beep
Devil Maisie on my shoulder was telling me to take a peak and sweet Maisie was saying respect his privacy.
Beep

Screw sweet Maisie, I've never been a girl with much patience.
I picked up his phone and took a peek at his inbox. He had multiple unanswered text messages from his mother.
From Mom:
Are you okay? Why didn't you come home last night
From Mom:
Please call me. Let me know you're alright. I am very worried.
From Mom:
Call me immediately Levi!
From Mom:
Levi please call me
His mom's messages showed a slow progression of worry. Her first couple were light in subject and then the last couple was her threatening to alert the police.
She wanted to know that he was alright.
She wanted to know if he was coming home.
He didn't respond to any one of her messages.
