From Maisie:
I'm dreading this family reunion of yours.
From Levi:
It's not ideal but she's my mom. We'll just need to set clear boundaries.
From Maisie:
Your mother has no filter. That will be a BIG problem.
I will leave if she disrespects me. I'm not kiddin'
From Levi:
You know I wouldn't be able to deal with her without you.
We just have to hold out a few days.
From Maisie:
I don't have a good feeling about this.
From Levi:
It will be fine, I promise. Now can we talk about the banquet?
From Maisie:
What's there to talk about? I'm not going with you.
From Levi:
I want us to go together, Mais.
From Maisie:
And you know what I want, Levi? I want to feel like I'm not about to go to war with your mother. I guess we both don't get what we want.
From Levi:
Trust me, it will be fine.
From Maisie:
No. Don't play the trust card.
From Levi:
If you leave, I go too.
K?
From Maisie:
I'm better off alone.
From Levi:
Don't do that.
**
I was worried about Levi's mom coming to stay. We clearly did not start off on the right foot and now we're both in this uncomfortable living situation.
I'm not going to stand for being disrespected. I hope she picked up on that during our first meeting.
There was a knock at the door at exactly 6 o'clock on the dot. When I opened the door, Mandy Knight stood there with her suitcases by her side. ---She already had a very dissatisfying look on her face.
Surprise!
"Welcome," I said as she let herself in. She settled her suitcases in the main entrance then wiped the bead of sweat from her forehead. "If only I had help to bring in my suitcase."
