□□ "so we will make new memories, alright?" □□

The sound of the door screeching woke Kirsten up from her deep sleep. She slept until the next morning. Jack stayed up with her all night, trying to keep himself awake to watch out for Kirsten's eyes to open. He hoped it was far more better than his puffed and swollen eyes. He was crying all night, up to the point where his eyes almost dried up.

It was so hard for him to accept the pitiful situation of Kirsten. He couldn't fathom the part where Kirsten would have to go with what he felt, but far more worst than his.

Rian was the one who came in. Jack was awaken by the noise of the door too. "Here's your coffee." Rian said as he handed the cup to Jack. Rian got himself an iced coffee drink to keep himself awake too.

"Coffee." Kirsten whispered. It was so soft but Jack heard it. He felt her move even if it was just a little flinch of her finger. He quickly turned to Kirsten after putting the cup of coffee on the bedside drawer.

"Kirsten?" Jack whispered closely to her as he cupped her face. He gave up a small bitter smile because he remembered all the things that happened the other day. Its aftermath will be devastating, he was expecting that.

Kirsten sweetly smiled back at him as she held on slowly to his wrist. Her other arm was already in a cast.

Jack saw her pale and dry lips so he asked, "Hungry? Do you want anything?"

"I want a kebab." Kirsten answered. Jack's eyes grew as it was the first time she asked for a kebab. She would normally ask for burger, cereal, fries, fruits or milk. It was like pregnancy cravings all over again. But he was sure that it was far from that, it would be impossible.

"Oh.. okay.. I'll look for it." Jack took out his phone immediately to look up for a store that sells kebab near their place.

"Why is my arm like this?" Kirsten asked, her eyes were on Jack. He just kept on typing on his phone. He didn't want to answer her question.

"Something happened at the concert?" she asked again, turning her eyes to Rian who was looking at her from the couch, he looked like he was going to come over and check out on her. He just stared back at Kirsten, trying not to make any reaction.

"I protected Jack Jack!" her calm voice suddenly freaked out when she remembered her baby, the stampede, the accident. Jack looked at her with worried eyes.

"You did?" Jack blurted out.

"Yeah! I curled up and held on to him." Kirsten said with a small smile but with swelling eyes. He felt Jack's deep sadness. She felt pain, it was indescribable. It was like she lost something she knew she had but didn't know which.

Kirsten started to sob when Jack and Rian turned their eyes away from her. She held on to her tummy and started to cry. "Why? I prot-tected him."

She remembered so well how she protected baby Jack Jack from all the people that ran over her, from all the people who kicked her and tripped over her. She took all the pain. She covered her tummy instead of her face. All of the bruises, her broken arm, and cuts she took were for the sake of protecting their little treasure.

"Nooo!!" Kirsten screamed out. She cried so hard. It was he first time they saw her furious, angry and sad, all at the same time. Her pain was too much to bear that the others could feel it coming from her. Their little ball of happiness became an open box of grief and depression. Jack immediately hugged her as she was starting to hit the bed hard. Her dextrose was removed and blood flowed out of it.
