"Fuck off Rian! I'll score this time!" Jack exclaimed while playing football with Zack and Rian. He was trying to be really energetic, but he has been playing like a noob for the last hour.
Rian saw Kirsten walking towards them so he suddenly paused the game. He acted like it was nothing while the two were confused.
"Whaaat?!" Jack furiously shouted as he was so close in finally getting a score.
Rian nodded his head towards the direction of Kirsten. Zack grabbed the controller away from Jack even if he resisted. Alex followed Kirsten and trailed behind her.
"Come on, say it!" Alex whispered to Kirsten. His smile was so big. He was so excited for the two.
Kirsten cleared his throat and said, "Can I talk to Jack for a while?" She isn't even looking at anyone. She was just looking down.
"No. Not like that." Alex was like the hovering angel (or devil, whatever you want) beside Kirsten. The three were looking at them. Waiting for Kirsten to speak out.
"Can we talk for a while, Jack?" She's still not looking an eye to eye with him.
"Only if you'll hold my hand.." Jack made a very cute duck face which made the other snort. "gaaah! It hurts so much because I've been playing the whole day..." Jack pouted like a little child.
Kirsten chuckled as she walked towards Jack. He stretched his arms out for Kirsten to hold. Jack stood up, and immediately carried her away, back to the front lounge. Kirsten screamed in surprise.
She tried to break free, just for a split second. She knew it won't really help. Plus, it is fun to be carried like a princess. The moving castle worked its magic again.
So Kirsten sat down on the wider couch while Jack took some chips and milk from the cabinet and fridge. Kirsten watched his every move. She was trying to sort out her thoughts, her lines and all the subjects they might talk about.
It was really a big mistake for her, not to confront Jack with a lot of things. To keep everything from him, not considering that Jack promised to take care of her. And that he deserves to know everything.
The two week vacation was almost up, so she needed to know what will be next of her. How will Jack take care of her? Will he really do as he promised?
Jack was equally struggling with his thoughts. He knew he promised to take care of her. He said it to her dad. It was like he already asked her hand for marriage, even though they were still far from that. He was worrying a lot that Kirsten won't believe his promise and take it out like it was his regular joke.
He was so damn worried the past few days because Kirsten won't talk to him. She was trying to avoid any conversation. She answers questions with yes, no, maybe, I don't know and all those conversation ender answers. But whatever happened the past few days, he already implemented his plans of taking full responsibility with Kirsten.
"I asked Vinny to work on your documents in order to stay here." Jack said as he placed the food on the table. Kirsten felt like a huge sack of problems were thrown away from her. Little by little, she came to understand more of what her position is in her new found family.
"We won't be returning the documents you gave to Carla until you'll be cleared out." he sat beside her afterwards. Jack was trying to sound calm and collected. He wanted Kirsten to feel that everything is under control, so she won't worry about it anymore.
"What are we going to talk about now?" he asked while opening the bag of chips he previously placed on the table. He then offered some to Kirsten.
