Mitch frowned at Scott as soon as he walked into the room, knowing he was upset.
Kevin was just holding ice against Mitch's arm, conversing with him until Scott came back, which is when he planned to leave.
Scott met Kevin's eyes, and then glanced toward the door. Kevin obeyed in an instant, walking out of the room to find Todrick.
Mitch frowned at his Alpha. "Scottie? Where did these bruises come from?"
Scott sat down beside him with a sigh, closing his eyes for a moment.
"Kevin said he couldn't tell me without your permission."
"It wasn't me."
Mitch giggled at him, pushing his shoulder lightly. "Of course it wasn't. I knew that."
"But, uh... Please know that the person responsible has been thoroughly bitched at by yours truly, and if he even so much as--" He stopped, slouching his body a little. "Sorry."
"No, it's okay. I've always loved your protective side. So, who was it?"
Scott glanced over at him with a frown. "Avi."
"And how did it happen, exactly?"
"He was trying to get you to do something, and he pulled on your arm."
"Oh... Well that's not so bad. Why are you all upset about it?"
Scott glanced down at Mitch's wrist, in case Mitch had forgotten. "He bruised you, baby. That's not okay with me."
"But if it was an accident..."
"It wasn't. He should've been more patient with you."
"I mean... I guess. You have to remember that not all Alphas are as kind as you are, Scottie."
"I know that. But that doesn't mean it's okay for him to physically force you to do something. That's not kindness, it's just common decency."
"You know he didn't mean it, though. He wouldn't hurt me on purpose."
"I don't care. What Travis did was an accident, and this is no different."
"But Travis ended up being forgiven."
"After months of his hard work, yes."
"But... This also doesn't even come close to the severity of what Travis did."
"No, but it's still rude. I don't care how severe you think it was. He hurt you, plain and simple. And in doing so, he lost my trust."

The next morning, Mitch woke up to see Scott and Avi arguing by his bedroom door.
Scott had only just gotten up, though Mitch's three second delay showed him leaning on the doorframe.
Avi pushed Scott's shoulder a little. "Kirstie is freaking out now, and I'm blaming you. She wants to know all the side effects of the drug Alexander gave Mitchell, because she's worried that Mitchell--"
"It is way too fucking early for you to be using that tone with me. At least let me get some coffee or something before you start bitching at me."
"I'm not using any tone! I'm just telling you--"
"Yes, I understand what you're telling me. How is that my fault? She's a curious person. What am I supposed to do about that?"
"I don't know."
