Marinette mashed the gamer controller's colorful buttons while Chat Noir crouched beside her, jamming the buttons, struggling to keep up.
Game Over highlighted the screen in big, bold words.
"I win again!" Marinette laughed, triumphantly while throwing her arms behind her head in a laid-back position.
Chat Noir huffed in frustration, and pouted like the inner five year old he is. "I wanna play again!" He crossed his arms across his chest.
"You wanna play again? This will be the seventh time!" Marinette said in a teasing voice, her blue-bell eyes lighting up with amusement, obviously proud of her wins against the famous feline hero.
"Yes!" Chat Noir exclaimed. "We're not stopping till I win!" His eyes lighting up with determination and intently focused on the glowing screen in front of the pair. A chuckle resonated from Marinette, while Chat Noir turned to her. "How are you so good?" He asked eagerly, obviously wanting some tips from the ultimate gaming master.
"Not telling!" Marinette gave him a grin but then her expression turned quite serious. "Thanks for noticing actually," she whispered, not meeting her partner's eyes. "Nobody has ever even said something really nice to me other than you and Alya, even Adrien won't talk to me. He probably thinks I'm weird though because all I can do whenever he is around is stammer and trip over things like I haven't walked in three years." Marinette flopped onto her light pink bed in frustration, making the frame of the bed rock back and forth under her weight.
Chat Noir's eyes widened, but his mouth morphed into a smile; surprisingly, it was not his usually cheeky grin but a genuine, heartfelt smile. "So you like this Adrien fellow?" He said, wiggling his eyebrows. Spoke too soon, Marinette thought when he gained back his usual Chat Noir style and a toothy grin. Although he appeared his playful self on the outside, his mind and heart were bouncing off the walls on the inside.
Marinette looked up from her pink bedspread with her face flushed with a shade of pink that matched the color of her bed sheets. "Maybe..." She said, dragging out the word which made it obvious. Marinette gave off a loud sigh and turned back to her pink bedspread. "But he barley ever talks to me, I'm pretty sure he hates me."
Chat Noir offered another genuine smile. "I'm sure he doesn't hate you... You never know, he might start falling for you tomorrow..."
