"I never really noticed Chat Noir but when was your birthday?" Marinette asked, as she stood on the balcony with the black cat beside her.
Chat Noir flinched, uncomfortable talking about it. "Well um, remember the bubbler?" He asked, avoiding Marinette's glittering blue gaze.
Marinette nodded her head, "The akuma that had all the adults in bubbles, right?" She asked, pretending she didn't know much about it.
Chat Noir nodded back, "Well that day was my birthday, and that was also the first time I knew what a birthday party looked like..." He replied, sadness choking him.
Marinette's eyes widened, "What?" She said in shock. "You mean to tell me you've never had a birthday party before?" The feline hero beside her shrugged as he looked off in the distance, the streetlights making his face glow. "And you didn't tell anyone," Marinette murmured, gripping the railing of her balcony so hard her hands began to turn white. "Not even Ladybug?" Marinette paused in anger, "So you were fighting all day and it was your birthday! I bet you didn't even get a present. How can you be so ca-"
Chat Noir cut her off of her rant, "It's ok, because in the end, all that mattered was Adrien's party and of course defeating the akuma." He concluded solemnly. Marinette stared at him. She had never seen him like this. He was usually super cheeky and arrogant but now she realized there was a whole other side to him.
"I guess, I see a little bit of myself in Adrien." Chat Noir added. "So if making someone really happy means I have to fight an akuma on my birthday, it's worth a try!" He concluded cheerfully.
Marinette released her tight grip on the railing and pulled Chat Noir into a hug. "You're a good person, Kitty." She whispered.
