"Ladybug, can I ask you something?"

"Chat Noir, you know you can't tell me anything about your personal life," Ladybug interrupted her partner quickly. The duo were relaxing on the rooftop where Chat Noir had brought her as Marinette when Andre, the ice cream man, was akumitized.

Chat Noir huffed in frustration. "I just want to talk about something that has been bothering me lately." He crosses his arms and pouted like a child who had been refused candy.

Ladybug gazed at her partner's desperate expression and caved. "Fine!"

Works every time, Chat Noir thought smugly. Almost immediately, he straightened up brightly to be able to talk to Ladybug face to face. A cheerful smile replaced the pout, and Ladybug could not do anything but roll her eyes and chuckle softly.

"Well, there is this girl at my school, and she is constantly stuttering whenever I am around," Chat Noir began. "She's really sweet, but I can hardly talk to her without her running away."

Ladybug started to laugh. "Does she blush?"

Chat Noir nodded and tilted his head, completely confused, when Ladybug laughed even louder. "It's not funny!" He whined, plastering the same pout on his face from before.

Ladybug coughed, trying to restrain her amusement. "I know it's not," she said. "It's just you're oblivious. It's obvious she has feelings for you."

Chat Noir could not believe it, but an emotion pricked at his heart. Happiness, perhaps? No, I love Ladybug, he reaffirmed.

"I don't think so, my lady. She has always been a friend to me."

Ladybug clutched her chest in mocking behavior. "Wow, Chat, you friendzoned the girl then," she replied heartily. However, deep down, a bitter feeling rose in her chest, because she knew all too well how it felt to be looked at as only a friend by the person she loved.

"Even if she did like me, she may not like me for me," Chat Noir said, making up excuses for himself.

"What do you mean?" Ladybug turned to look at her partner, who had already turned away from her to watch the sunset.

"Well, do you ever feel like wearing the mask makes you feel truly yourself? Whenever I'm not Chat Noir, I have the constant feeling that I have to be perfect. I've kind of gotten used to disappointment. I don't want to disappoint anyone else and give them the same feeling, but at the same time, it feels like I can never live up to anyone's expectations, especially my father's image for me."

Ladybug listened silently, as he poured his heart out to her. When he realized what he had said, he stammered.

"Oh, wait, I didn't mean to-"

Ladybug interrupted him, as a smile tugged on her lips. "How ironic, it is just the opposite for me. I'm pretty awkward and clumsy whenever I'm not Ladybug, and it seems like I can't talk to the one boy I want to no matter how hard I try. Being Ladybug has given me more confidence and power in my daily life, but everyone expects me to always know the answer to everything, even though I have to improvise every time a civilian is akumitized. Exactly how you said, I don't want to let anyone down, especially you."

Now Chat Noir was facing Ladybug, and she was watching the sun retreating below the horizon. "M'lady, it seems like we have more in common than we think," he said cheekily, and she turned to face him again.

Ladybug nodded, giving him a soft smile. "It seems we do." We truly are halves of a coin. We are the yin and yang of the miraculous. I thought that only meant our miraculouses are balanced, but apparently, we are different in how we handle being a superhero too.

A pressure Ladybug did not even know she had lifted off her chest. Talking about her struggles as being the famous heroine of Paris was comforting. "Thank you, Chat Noir," she whispered.

Chat Noir felt a light weight rest on his shoulder, and he was delighted when he looked down. Ladybug had scooted closer to him to rest her head on his shoulder. Her eyes were focused on the last glimpse of the sun, but they were feeling heavier by the second.

Chat Noir chuckled softly, careful not to disturb her, as he finished watching the sunset too. A few minutes after stars were illuminating the sky, soft snoring alerted him the heroine had fallen asleep.

"Thank you," Chat Noir murmured, as he shifted to find a more comfortable position without waking her up. He planted a small kiss on her forehead and grinned when she smiled in her sleep.

"I love you, my lady."
