Marinette's P.O.V.

What have I gotten myself into?

Currently, I am hanging on to the side of a building holding on only by my upper body strength which was running out quickly. My muscles were straining, as I tried to hoist myself up in vain.

You may be wondering how I got here?

Chat Noir and I were fighting an akumitized villain as usual, but I had used my Lucky Charm too soon and I had to retransform back into my civilian form.

Tikki had flown away somewhere to find food, preferably a cookie, after I assured her I was fine on my own.

Well, spoiler alert.

I'm not fine on my own!

I was my usual clumsy self and tripped over the base of an electric pole, causing me to roll toward the side of a building and almost drop to certain death.

I felt the strength in my arms failing, and my body seemed to be heavier and heavier by each passing second. I give up. I need help, and I need it now!

"Help! Please! Someone help me!"

I screeched so long that my voice probably hit the frequency of a dog whistle, but I didn't care. I needed help.

"Marinette?" A familiar but shocked voice replied to my endless screams.

That better not be-

"Chat Noir?" I said, astonished, that there was actually someone here to save me.

I really hope Tikki doesn't come back right now-

"Marinette!" I heard a tiny voice call.

Wow, today is really not my day.

Tikki quickly floated over to me, chomping on a cookie as fast as she possibly could. "No!" I said in a hushed voice.

"No?" Chat Noir yelled in question, approaching the side of the building until I finally saw him face to face.

"No, I mean," I cleared my throat, while the muscles in my back screeched in agony. "I don't need your help!"

Chat Noir shook his head, but I couldn't help but notice his slightly amused expression. "Come on, Marinette," he held out his right hand. "Take my hand."

But Tikki could be seen, my mind yelled at me despite every other part of my body screaming for me to take his hand and end the pain. Tikki was resting on my back, trying to finish the cookie and was still trying to muster up the energy to float again.

"No!" My mouth suddenly let out.

No? Why would you say no? I yelled at myself.

I don't know! I yelled back.

My hand slipped, and I felt my eyes begin to water, as I tried to regain my grip on the side of the building.

"Look, I'm not asking you to marry me, I'm trying to save your life!" Chat Noir said, terror evident in his voice, as his hand reached out further.

Fear forced my hand forward, until I grabbed onto his hand. I felt the weight lifted off my body, as I was hoisted up and onto the roof.

Chat Noir and I were laying on the roof, and after I realized I was safe, I let all the tears fall. Chat Noir did not say anything, but simply stroked my hair and rubbed my back to calm me down.

Tikki!

I looked around to notice two small red antennas poking out of the bush by the side of the building.

She's alright.

You're alright.

Everything is okay.

After a few minutes of silence except for my sobs and sniffles, I finally mustered up the words to speak.

"Thank you, Chat Noir."

He turned to look at me in the eyes for the first time, since he had noticed me crying. His saddened green eyes slowly softened, as he realized I was alright.

"Thank you so much."
