Marinette's P.O.V.
I wiped the sweat from my brow. We had just finished Basketball practice, and everyone was exiting the gym to go shower. I walked over to the bench, and took a swig of my water before throwing my athletics bag over my shoulder.
Just as I turned around, I bumped into something - or well, someone. "Oh, sorry, Marinette," a masculine voice said to me, as I slowly looked up.
Adrien Agreste. The boy's blonde hair was flopped messily to the side, but how it looked good, Marinette couldn't understand. He was also wearing denim jeans, and a white shirt. A custom sports jacket hung around his shoulders; Marinette had seen this jacket several times before since it was basically the boy's prized possession.
After a few seconds of exchanging looks, Adrien extended his hand. I looked at it in confusion, before I realized he was trying to help me up. "Um, thanks, I guess," I replied awkwardly, before pushing myself up enough to grab his hand.
"You're welcome," Adrien said enthusiastically, heaving me upwards till I was steadily on the ground in front of him. "So, what were you doing?"
"Basketball," I answered, feeling slightly refreshed being able to talk about what I loved - sports. "We have a game coming up."
"Oh," Adrien said, acting surprised. "Well, are you any good?" He asked, obviously teasing me, as he looked at me with a mischievous glint in his green eyes.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Obviously," I said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Usually I wasn't this full of myself, but something about this guy just got me really excited.
I saw another teasing glimmer in his eyes, making me grin widely. "Prove it," he challenged, taking a step closer to me.
Oh, I will, I think to myself, knowing I have to beat this guy. "Fine, let's have a game then," I suggested, looking him straight in the eyes and showing no fear. He wasn't going to scare me.
"Sure," Adrien said, "but let's make things interesting."
I looked at him strangely, but nodded none the less, slightly curious to see what he would say.
"How about a deal?" He asked, not flinching as he looked me in the eye. Strange, people usually flinch, I thought. This guy's different.
I nodded in agreement. There's no way I'll lose anyway, so it'll just benefit me, I thought determinedly. "If I win, you have to do whatever I say for the next month," I said right off the bat.
Adrien didn't even falter after hearing what he would have to do if he lost. "Alright," he just began, as if he hadn't heard her. "If I win, you have to go on a date with me."
Wait... What?
I looked at him like he had two heads. "You're on," was blurted out of my mouth, before I could even comprehend what just happened. I watched Adrien smirk at me, which made my face feel hot.
I knew from then on, he had no intention of losing.
