My knees wobbled dangerously, as I tried to catch my breath. The score was eight to two, and Adrien was winning. I panted roughly, feeling like I was suffocating, as I watched the blonde-haired boy once again dunk it into the hoop for what felt like the hundredth time.
"Okay, okay," I said in a playfully annoyed voice. "I get it. You don't have to show off anymore."
Adrien turned around after dunking in the basketball, wiped the sweat off his brow, and winked at me; I blushed no matter how much I didn't want to admit it. "I don't have to show off. I'm just naturally this good," he said to me.
I rolled my eyes, but my lips were shaped into a small smirk. I crossed my arms across my chest, as I watched him stroll over to me. "So, you know what this means, right?" He asked me in a teasing manner. I felt my face grow hot, and I fought the urge to hide my face in my shirt from embarrassment.
Hopefully he just won't notice.
"Are you blushing?"
Well, there goes that.
"No," I denied, but much to my dismay, my face grew redder by the second. As a last minute resort, I put my hoodie over my head, trying to hide my face.
"Wait, why did you do that?" I heard Adrien ask me.
"Do what?" I asked, as my eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"Well, I don't know why you would cover your face," he paused, and turned to look me straight in the face. "You're just so beautiful."
I felt my whole face heat up again, but frustration fizzed inside me. Why does he have such an effect on me? If he keeps this up, I will turn into a tomato.
"Anyway, I'll pick you up after class, alright?" He suggested, as if he hadn't just gave me a huge compliment, but I felt my face regaining its natural color. I nodded in response, knowing that if I said anything, my voice would crack from embarrassment.
"Great," Adrien said with great enthusiasm, smiling widely. He gave me another one of his signature winks, before grabbing his stuff. Without another word, he left the gym.
I felt my heart flutter, as I looked at the door he had exited. I was still standing in the exact same spot from when we finished our basketball game. I could hardly move normally when Adrien was around, much less talk.
Well, either way, looks like I have a date to go get ready for.

I looked in the mirror, looking for any sign of fault in my outfit, hair, or makeup. My hair was in a messy bun that I miraculously had made look somewhat good after at least fifty tries; my arms were tired from all the times of doing my hair that evening. I had on a pair on denim jean shorts with a pink shirt on that just barley covered my stomach. To finish the look, I put on one of my homemade Chat Noir vintage-looking jackets. The color theme was green and black, and on the right long sleeve, it had the number thirteen stitched on. But my favorite part was on the top right of the jacket, where a shirt pocket would usually be, was a black and green paw to finish off the Chat Noir look.
Ding, dong!
The doorbell rang to show me someone was here, and I knew who that someone was. "Coming!" was all I called, as I finished up everything I needed to before leaving. I quickly glanced at the mirror again to make sure I looked presentable, before grabbing a wrapper of bubble gum from my desk - to help my nerves.
I ran to the door, and before I opened it, I inhaled and exhaled. I can do this, I told myself. Couldn't I?
Without another thought of how wrong it could go today to stop me from going, I swung open the door. I was met with the blonde boy from before - Adrien. "Hey," I greeted him, standing in the doorway to my home.
Adrien grinned at me cheekily, but I thought I saw a bright pink painted along his cheeks. He bowed to me playfully in a response to my greeting, but I only rolled my eyes; even if I thought it was cute, I would never admit that to him.
"Nice outfit. You have a thing for Chat Noir?" He asked out of the blue, making me blush again.
"That's for me to know, and you to find out," I teased, and winked at him playfully.
He looked me dead in the eyes, but still with that familiar and teasing glimmer in his eyes. "Looks like I have some competition," he said, which made me snort from laughter.
"Whatever you say," I reply with a comedic shake of my head, trying to shake off my laughter but mainly the red on my cheeks.
Maybe this won't be so bad...
__________
"Come on! Tell me where we're going!"
"It's a surprise!"
I pouted out my bottom lip. "You know I hate surprises!" I whined, looking around for any hint of where we would be eating.
Adrien rolled his eyes playfully to my amusement. "You do know it was curiosity that killed the cat?"
I let out a grunt of laughter, as I looked down at my Chat Noir jacket then turned back up to face Adrien. "And satisfaction brought it back," I retorted, feeling happy that I could keep up the witty batter.
"Touché," Adrien said with a wide grin, making me smile as well. "Oh, here it is," he said, pointing to something behind me.
I turned around to face a small, charming café. It had many flower pots dotted outside the front of the building, and two sets of tables and chairs with the usual essentials on top of it - salt, pepper, and napkins. I looked up to see what it was called, and in large cursive writing with loops and swirls were the words, Chat Noir café.
How ironic.
"Haha, very funny," I replied sarcastically, as I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest.
Adrien gave a lighthearted chuckle, and grabbed my hand. "Let's go," he said to me. I felt his gaze on me, but I was gaping down at our intertwined hands, feeling electricity ripple in my hand until my whole arm was on fire.
As I stood there, staring at my arm, Adrien shrugged and began to drag me to the café, making me gasp at the sudden force. "Adrien!" I whined, but apparently he hadn't heard me or didn't want to, since he didn't even look at me.
We pushed our ways through the doors, and went up to the counter to get our reservation. Adrien greeted the guy at the counter. He had chocolate brown hair, and he was looking at Adrien with utmost seriousness. "Agreste reservation," Adrien informed him, but the guy wasn't even looking at Adrien anymore; he was staring straight at me.
I flinched under the guy's intense stare, feeling very uncomfortable, as the guy examined me with no shame at all. I felt Adrien stiffen beside me, before repeating, "Agreste reservation, please," but he had a certain sternness to his voice.
The guy looked like he hadn't even heard Adrien, since he still didn't even acknowledge his presence. "What's your name?" He asked in a slightly flirty voice, and I stared back at him as if he had three heads.
I stared up at him with a innocent smile, before sweetly saying, "Agreste reservation."
I looked over at Adrien holding in a laugh, and the guy at the counter had his mouth wide open. "Fine, you'll be seated over there," he grumbled sourly, pointing to a table over by the window.
I grabbed Adrien's right hand. "Thank you!" I called in a sing-song voice, as I walked away, Adrien not far behind.
I didn't wait for the guy on the counter to respond, walking over to the table and sitting down. "Thank you," Adrien whispered to me after sitting down on the seat across from me.
I let out a small laugh. "You're welcome," I breathed out, pink threatening on my cheeks.
No matter how much I didn't want to admit it, I knew from that moment on that I loved Adrien Agreste.
