Marinette's P.O.V.

"No! I'm not going on a blind date, Adrien!" I yelled into my phone's microphone, as I folded the last freshly washed shirt on my bed.

"Come on, Marinette!" I heard the blonde haired boy whine from the other line. I could not help but smile at his voice. It always made me happy.

"No means no, Agreste," I said in a harsher tone than I intended.

Adrien had been trying to set me up on a blind date with a friend of his for a few months now. I told him I was not interested, but he kept bugging me about it. It seemed like I could not even talk to him about anything without him bringing up the idea of the blind date.

Why can't he just understand that I don't want to go on a date with anyone but him?

"Please! You still owe me from the paint incident," the voice replied back in a just as sharp manner, but I could tell he was having fun with this conversation.

The paint incident as he called it, also known as one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, happened a few weeks ago. I tripped over the rug in our painting class and bumped into a table piled high with paint cans without lids on them.

Let's just say that paint got everywhere and our teacher was not happy. I don't know if I've ever been more scared of a teacher; he looked infuriated.

He was about to give me detention, but Adrien said that he had made the mess and took the blame instead. I'm sure you think it is weird, because he took my punishment without needing to.

However, if I had gotten that detention, it would have been my third and I would have been suspended. Do not get me wrong though, I'm not a troublemaker; I'm just always late.

Balancing social life, family life, pursuing my dreams of being a designer, and being on time to school is too much when you have to save Paris every night. Even if it is a hassle to find a way to do everything, I would never give up being Ladybug and fighting alongside Chat Noir.

"I know, but this is taking it a bit too far!" I retorted, praying that he would surrender soon and change the topic.

However, I knew that was definitely not going to happen when I heard him answer, "You know what is too far? Having to write a five page paper on Tachism! I don't even know what that is!"

We are never going to get anywhere. I'm so tired of this being the only thing we talk about. I'm ready to just let it be over, and it seems like there's only one way to do that.

"Fine, I'll do it."

The words had come out of my mouth before I even knew it. I was not upset about it though. This was the beginning of the end of us yelling at each other about this.

There was a brief silence over the phone. I was listening expectantly, waiting to hear Adrien's voice again, but nothing came from the device. "Adrien?" I asked slowly.

"Are you serious?" was the only answer I got in return.

I shrugged, even though he could not see me. "Why not? What could happen?"

I heard the sound of muffled crashing over the phone line before I heard his voice again. This time, it was more excited and joyful. "You won't regret it, Marinette!"

Hearing him so happy was more than enough to make me smile.

"I hope not, Agreste," I said, laughing heartily. "I'll see you later."

"See you!" I heard his excited voice again. He sounded farther away from the phone and out of breath as if he had been running.

Knowing this was the end of the conversation, I pressed the red button at the bottom of my phone screen and hung up.

I could not help but chuckle again. I wonder what he is so excited about.

I stood outside the coffee shop Adrien had told me to wait at to meet up with my blind date. He said he would be wearing a pair of ripped black jeans, white shirt, and a pink bandana that I had designed around his right wrist.

I'm at the right location. I looked down at my watch and saw that it was exactly 12:30 in the afternoon. It's the exact time he should be getting here.

Maybe he stood me up, I couldn't help but think. Even if I've never met the guy, it still hurts if he stood me up.

After waiting another ten minutes, I decided to call Adrien. I dialed his number that I had memorized by heart, and he answered immediately as if he was waiting for me to call.

"I don't know if you think this is some prank or something, but it is not a very good one," I started without greeting him. I heard a few chuckles on the other line which just made me angrier.

"Don't laugh at me!" I yelled, as I turned around and walked into the cafe.

"Look to your left."

Instinctively, I turned to my left after walking into the cafe.

A familiar boy with golden hair and electric green eyes, seated at the table closest to the door, was smiling at me with his phone against his ear. He was wearing a white shirt tucked into black jeans ripped at the knees. It would have all been a coincidence, but my eyes trailed down to something around his right wrist. The pink bandana that I had designed.

"Adrien?"

The boy in front of me spoke into his phone.

Adrien's voice coming from my phone greeted me again.

"Hey, Marinette."
