Marinette grabbed her books to leave class as the bell blared down the hallways. Racing outside, Marinette ran straight to her locker and shoved her books in under her light pink locker shelf then quickly grabbing her other work books for her next subject.
"Hey, Marinette." A familiar masculine voice interrupted. Not him! Marinette panicked, straightened then turned around to face none other than the most popular guy in the whole school.
Adrien Agreste.
Marinette sighed, "What do you want?" She would have crossed her arms but she had three books in her hands, so instead she gave the model a smug smirk.
Adrien rolled his eyes at the girl's childish behavior. "I need a favor."
Marinette groaned, "What is it?" She asked impatiently, looking down at her watch while tapping her right foot on the floor. Five minutes to get to class, the bluenette murmured on the inside.
"Well, Chloe and I just broke up so I need to get her jealous..."
"What does that have to do with me?"
Adrien took a heart locket necklace out of his jeans pocket. That looks really familiar... Wait! That's my mom's necklace!
"Where did you get that?" Marinette yell-whispered since they were in the school hallway.
Adrien smirked, he knew he had gotten the girl's attention. "Well, I saw it laying on the floor so I wanted to return it to you." He waved it in front of Marinette's face. She swiped at it but the blonde was too quick for her, clutching it back into his firm grip. "And now I need something so you are going to help me," he showed it to Marinette again, "if you want it back."
"Fine," Marinette grumbled with a rough 'humph' to follow it.
"Great," Adrien said enthusiastically, "I need you to be my fake girlfriend."
Marinette's blue eyes widened, "You want me to do what now?" But then Adrien showed her the necklace again.
Marinette groaned, then reluctantly gave a small nod.
Adrien smiled, taking a crumbled piece of paper shaped into a ball out of his pocket. He unfolded the mangle and gave it to Marinette. It was just a piece of notebook paper with scribbles on it with a huge 'x' with a line beside it on the bottom of the page. "Just sign down there." Adrien explained, pointing at the line on the bottom of the lined paper.
"Well, what does it say up there?" Marinette asked, squinting at the terrible handwriting on the top of the paper, trying to find out what it said.
Adrien muttered something under his breath then began to list off the rules, pointing at them as he named then. "Rule number one, no going back when you have signed this."
"It's not even a official paper." Marinette said, amusement bubbling up inside her.
Adrien continued on, apparently not hearing or not wanting to hear the bluenette's comment. "Rule number two, no going out with anyone else," then Adrien looked Marinette up and down with a smirk. "But I bet that wouldn't be a problem for you," but the girl's only response was a roll of the eyes.
"Rule number three, this one might be tricky for you. You cannot fall in love with me." Adrien concluded, the smirk on his face had been on the whole time.
Marinette sighed. "You're hopeless." She signed her signature along the line of the paper, her name having beautiful loops and swirls next to Adrien's weird, crooked letters.
"Deal." Marinette held out her arm for the model to shake it.
The boy smiled then took her hand, shaking it. "Deal."
