First and Last

Chapter 28

                Leo arrived at my house a little early. He told me he just wanted to talk to Damian. Odd.

                Damian and Leo were talking in Damian’s room. I put my ear in the door but I couldn’t hear anything. What were they talking about? I’m really curious.

                Then the door opened and the two of them laughed.

                “Spying on us?” Damian asked.

                I felt so embarrassed. “Let’s go!” I said pulling Leo away from Damian.

                Leo and I went to a park. He also brought a picnic blanket and foods.

                “What’s this for?” I asked him.

                “Don’t worry,” he said arranging the foods.

                I sat down and waited for him to finished preparing our picnic.

                “We are friends right?”

                I nodded.

                He sat beside me.

                “Lindsay. Can you please tell me something?”

                “What is it?” I asked him.

                “You and Scott?” he said.

                I raised my eyebrow at him. “What about Scott?”

                “Is there something going on between the two of you?”

                I gulped.

                “Did – Damian – “

                “He didn’t say anything about Scott.”

                “Why did you talk to Damian?” I asked changing the subject.

                “I asked for forgiveness because I hurt you.”

                “Ooh.”

                “Can you now answer my question?”

                I sighed. He was waiting for me to say something.

                “I – Scott and I – he’s my ex-boyfriend,” I finally said it to him.

                He smiled at me. “I thought so.”

                I looked at him.

                “You’re not angry?” I asked him.

                “No,” he said laughing. “Why would I?”

                “Nothing. What do you mean you thought so?”

                “It just – the way you two looked at each other.”

                “Why?” I asked him.

                “You two looked at each other with love.”

                “The same way you looked at Celine.” I said to him.

                He looked at me and smiled.

                “What happened to the both of you?” he asked me getting a sandwich and giving me one. “I prepared that myself.” He smiled at me.

                I smiled at him. “Thank you. Scott and I. Did you know we experienced the same thing?”

                “Hmmm..” He said chewing his sandwich.

                I laughed at him. “I thought Scott cheated on me. We’ve been together for three years. I saw him kissing another girl. – “

                “Damian – “ I heard Leo said but he stopped.

                “What about Damian?” I asked him.

                “I just remembered him,” he said biting another of his sandwich. “Continue your story please.”

                “It has been three years then he came back.”

                “For you?”

                I nodded.

                “Three years had passed and he came back for you.” Leo said.

                “He came back but he said it was too late. I was in love with another guy.”

                Leo looked at me sadly. “I’m sorry.”

                I laughed.

                “I ruined everything. If I didn’t – “

                I laughed again. “Leo. Stop it. How many times did you say sorry to me?”

                “It’s just that – “

                I stopped him by putting another sandwich in his mouth then chuckled. “Stop saying sorry.”

                He nodded. “Do you still love him?”

                I smiled at him. “I don’t know. I guess. Leo. You and Celine? How are you two?”

                “The both of us? Well, we are friends for a while. She said it was too soon for the both of us. Because you and I just broke up.”

                “Ahh.”

                “Will you and Scott, can you two get back together?”

                “Why?” I asked him.

                “I just thought you two are destined for each other.”

                “Just like you and Celine.”

                We both laughed. Then he brought out a cup then poured a juice in it. He gave me a cup. “To love.” He said raising his cup to me.

                I smiled. “To love.”
