                “Lindsay!” Amber called.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“Celine wanted to talk to you,” she said.

                “Celine?”

“Yeah. She said she will be in the gym.”

                “Okay.”

“I didn’t know you two were friend.”

                “We just – talked – “

She just nodded and she left me saying she’ll be meeting someone.

I was shocked. Why did Celine wanted to talk to me?

“Where are you going?” someone said at my ear while putting his hand on my waist. I looked and saw Leo.

“Uhm – in the restroom,” I lied.

If Leo found out I’m going to meet up with his ex-girlfriend he wouldn’t let me.

“Why are you here? Don’t you have any classes?” I asked him.

“I do,” he said smiling at me.

“You cut class?” I asked him shocked.

“Of course not,” he said. “I saw you passed our room so I excused myself.

I need to get Leo away from me. “Go back to your class.” I ordered at him.

“Sure, but I need – “ he stopped and kissed me in the lips.

                “Hey!” I protested.

                “Bye! See you later.”

I smiled at him and waved. Then I felt sadness all of a sudden. I felt that that would be the last time I would felt Leo’s lips to mine.

When I’m sure Leo was gone I immediately went to the gym. I opened the door and saw Celine at the left side benches.

She saw me and asked me to sit beside her.

I sat beside her and waited for her to say something.

                “Do you love him?”

That’s the first question that broke the silence.

I looked at her. She really was pretty.

“Do you love Leo?” she asked looking at me.

                “Do you?” I asked her.

She was shocked then she smiled and nodded.

“I still love him,” she said.

“Still?” I asked her. “Can you please tell me about you and Leo. What happened between you two?”

She looked at me then sighed. “We’ve been together for five years.”

                I gulped. Five years??

“We have a misunderstanding that’s why we broke apart,” she said.

                “What happened?” I asked.

“There’s this guy that likes me but I never paid him any attention. Leo wasn’t in the same school as I am so he doesn’t know about this. This guy he wasn’t like any other guy that tried something in me. He was kind. One time, I was walking and I tripped. He helped me. Leo was busy in his soccer so I know he wouldn’t drive me home.”

Wait. Soccer? How long did this happen?

Celine continued. “This guy drove me home and helped me get out of his car but Leo was there. He thought me and this guy was doing something behind his back. He got angry at me. I wanted to explain to him. But he wouldn’t listen. He left me.”

My heart sank hearing her story. Just like what happened to me and Scott.

“When did you two broke up?” I asked her.

                “3 months ago,” she said.

My eyes widened. I felt my throat going dry. 3 months ago? Leo and I, we were together for 2 months and he courted me for 1 month. Does this mean he courted me after they broke apart? Did he use me to forget Celine?

“I want him back,” Celine told me. She was now crying. “I really wanted him back. I don’t want anybody but him. I love him. That’s why I studied here. But I guess I was too late.”

They’ve been together for five years. It was so long. Very long.

“I’ll talk to him,” I stammered.

“Don’t,” Celine said. “He’s still angry at me. Just please. Make him happy.”

I felt so hurt too. I knew now. Leo really did use me to forget this girl in front of me.

“I need to go,” I told her. “Let’s go.”

She looked at me and nodded. She wiped her tears and we went out the gym. I felt so miserable. I felt like the world crashed down on me.
