I was so cold. I couldn’t feel the pain in my ankle anymore. The rain was still pouring so hard. Someone might have been looking for me.

I felt so weak and I’m really hungry. I heard the thunder again and covered my ears.

                “Scott.” I whispered at myself.

                “Lindsay!”

                I heard someone shouted.

                “Where are you?!”

                It was Leo’s voice.

“I’m here!” I shouted. My throat hurts a little. “Leo! I’m here!”

I heard footsteps and I saw Leo, his body was so wet. He sat beside me inside the cave.

“Thank God you’re okay!” he said hugging me tight.

“Leo. You’re so cold!” I stammered my teeth chattering.

He noticed I was trembling. He took out a towel and a jacket in his backpack. Then he took out a headphone and an ipod.

“This is Scott’s idea. He told me to give this to you so you wouldn’t hear the thunder,” he said giving me the headphone and ipod.

                I smiled. Scott.

Leo put the jacket on me and leaned me closer to him.

I didn’t put the headphone yet. The thunder stopped.

                “Lindsay?”

                “Hmmm..”

“Why are you afraid of the thunder?”

“Its – something bad happened to me when I was a kid –  I was inside our car. My governess was with me and our driver. I was in kindergarten that time. It was raining so hard. I was looking outside the window.”

He was waiting for me to go on.

“I wasn’t afraid of the thunder that time. Like I told you it was raining so hard and there was a thunder that time. Everything went so fast. Something hit us. Then our driver, I think he loses control of the car and then we hit on something. I woke up in the hospital a few days later.”

“My parents were so glad that I’m alive. Our driver and my governess died in that accident. Since that incident, I was afraid of the thunder. I remembered how it felt to be in that car.”

He put my head in his shoulder.

“Don’t worry.” He said to me. He moved a little and I felt the pain in my ankle again.

                “Ouch!”

                “Why?” he asked surprised.

“I sprained my ankle. Someone – pushed me.”

“We all know who did it.”

                “Angelica.” I said.

He nodded. “Scott talked to her. I don’t know what they talked about but he asked me to find you.”

                I smiled and nodded.

“He was really worried you know.”

                “Really?”

He nodded. “He was supposed to be the one saving you but he need to do something. Something concerning Angelica.”

                I nodded again. “Where’s Celine?”

“She quickly went to her room when we reached the house. She said she was so tired,” Leo explained.

Then we heard the thunder again. “I think it’s better if you put on the headphone.”

I nodded and put it on me and played a soft music. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I woke up and I noticed I was already in our room. I saw my friends looking at me when I sat up.

“Are you okay?” Amber asked me.

“We were all so worried!” Reina said hugging me.

“Angelica was sent home,” Lorelei told me.

                “Where’s Scott?” I asked them.

“Well, Scott and his friends need to get back to school early,” Reina said.

                “Ooh.”

“Don’t worry. He did leave this,” Amber said giving me a bouquet of white roses.

                I took it and smiled.

                “And Leo?” I asked them.

“I guess he’s with Celine right now,” Lorelei said. “Do you want to have breakfast?”

“What time is it?” I asked them.

“It’s 11am,” Reina replied. “Do you want to have your breakfast in bed?”

I laughed. “No need. Let’s go downstairs.”

They helped me stood up. I don’t need a crutch to walk. This was also the last day of our trip. The professor assigned to us prepared a small celebration. We had fireworks, played games (sadly I didn’t join them because of my situation), prepared so much food and had a campfire.

I heard my phone beeped and looked who texted me. An unknown number.

                I opened the message.

Hope you’re doing fine. Sorry for leaving without waiting for you to wake up. I’ll see you soon. Take care of yourself. Scott

I smiled. He must be in his house by now. I can’t wait to see him again.
