“Are you really okay?” Damian asked me.

He picked me up in school since the bus stopped in our there.

“I’m alright Damian,” I told him. He was helping me get to my room. Wow! I can’t believe I’m going to take an hour to reached my bedroom.

“Maybe it’s easier if I just carry you to your room,” he said.

“I think so too,” I smiled at him.

So he carried me to my room and slowly brought me down to my bed. “Thank you!” I grinned at him.

“You’re heavy, did you know that?” he said massaging his shoulders.

“I’m not that heavy,” I told him crossing my arms.

“Yes you are!” he said sitting beside me.

“Where are mom and dad?” I asked him. I haven’t noticed our parents, were they home?

“They both attended a meeting,” Damian said lying down to my bed. “My back hurts.”

“Will you get me cookies and a glass of milk?” I asked him smiling at him sweetly.

“If you were only a guy. Like a lil’ brother of mine. I’ll kick your ass,” he said standing up.

I laughed at him. “Good thing I’m your little sister.” I said grinning at him.

“Yeah, and it’s hard you know,” he said laughing.

He went out and I waited for him to come back with my cookies and milk. After a few minutes he came back and with a box of Chip Deluxe and a glass of fresh milk.

“Here,” he said giving me the tray.

I can’t cross my leg so I just straighten them. “How long does it take for my ankle to heal?”

“I think 1 year,” he said seriously.

I punched him in his shoulder. “I’m serious.”

“I am too!” He said angrily.

                I glared at him.

“Okay, okay. I think for 11 months,” he said while biting a cookie.

                I punched him again.

“Alright! I don’t know the answer, okay?”

                “Hmf.”

“Just eat your cookies,” he ordered at me.

While eating, I remembered something. “Damian?”

“Wach ich it?” he said while chewing his cookie.

“Are you hiding something from me?” I asked him.

                “Of course not!” he said.

                “Damian . . . “

“Did Leo tell you?” he asked me.

                “What?”

“So he didn’t tell you. I like that guy.”

                “Damian!”

“Okay. Just promise me you won’t get angry at me.”

                “What did you do?”

                “Just promise me.”

                “I promise!”

“Promise me you’ll not do anything to me. Like kill me.”

I glared at him. “I promise!”

He took a deep breath. “It’s about Scott.”

                “What about Scott?”

“Do you remember the time you saw him kiss another girl?”

“Of course. Don’t tell me you planned it?!” I said sounding so shocked.

“Of course not!” Damian grumbled. “Do you think I’m that evil?”

                “No. Then what is it?”

“I was the one who told that girl where Scott was.”

                “That’s it?”

                Damian nodded.

                “Did you know that girl?”

“No.” Damian answered honestly. “But I knew she like Scott.”

                “How?”

                “Well, she told me.”

                “Then?”

“She doesn’t know I was your brother. I was stupid that time. I told her where Scott was. I’m sorry Lindsay.”

                I looked at him.

“Why did you do it?” I asked him.

“I was still angry with her sister that time even though I didn’t show it.”

                “So – “

“I was stupid, okay? I knew that girl like Scott. But I still told her where he was. I know she might do something to him. I guess I’m thinking that it’s a test for Scott. If he truly loves you.”

“That’s alright Damian.” I told him.

                “You’re not angry?”

                “No.”

                “Promise?”

                “I promise.”

“Phew! I thought you’d kill me.”

                “I’ll just bury you alive.”

He looked at me and I laughed. “I’m joking!”

He messed up my hair. “You are still my big brother.” I told him.

He smiled at me. I’m so glad Damian told me the truth. But past is past. I don’t care what happened before. The important thing was, the present.
