I pulled my lanyard over my head and flicked my hair over the back of it before heading out onto the shop floor. The shop was kind of empty considering it was one of the most popular shops in town.

As it started to get later in the day more staff started to pile in as well as customers. I noticed one of my favourite fellow members of staff, Shawn, walking through the glass door. I smiled at him as he nodded his head and I watched him head up to the staff room.

Shawn was one of my personal favourites, not because of his good looks- okay, maybe a little- but because he was always so happy, cheery and unbelievable funny. He always made me feel comfortable around him and was always there to lend a hand when I needed one.

A couple more hours passed and my manager, Lucy, allowed me to go on my lunch break.

"Hey!" Shawn beamed as I walked past him.

"Hi" I giggled at his reaction to me.

"Where you off?" He asked.

"Lunch break" i admired his outfit and his hair as well as his face and boy was he cute. He was always dressed nicely on a t-shirt and jeans and his hair was always perfectly swept to one side which made it look so fluffy. "y/n? Earth to y/n" he chuckled as I realised I was daydreaming.

"Oh, sorry. What did you say?" I blushed slightly and looked at my feet causing my hair to fall across my face. Shawn quickly swept it back and smiled at me.

"I said do you want to go out for lunch with me?" I nodded almost instantly. "Okay, where shall we go?"

"Pizza Hut!" I said a little too enthusiastically. He chuckled.

"Okay, let me grab my coat."

We were seated in a booth for two and we ordered instantly due to only having 1 hour for lunch break. We created small talk until our pizzas came and then there was hardly any talk due to each of us stuffing our faces.

"I have a confession to make" he blushed as he reached to run the back of his neck. "I have been wanting to ask you out on a date for a while now and I know this isn't the best I was wondering if maybe you would like to go out with me sometime. You know just you and me, together." I practically choked on the tortilla chip that I was shoving into my mouth. "I'm sorry that was a stupid thing to say, ignore that."

"No" I said.

"Oh, okay?"

"No, I mean, no it wasn't a stupid way to ask. I'd love to go on a date with you" his face lit up which caused me to giggle.

"Great" he checked his watch. "Shit!" He threw money on to the table and grabbed his coat before grabbing my hand and my coat and rushing out.
