It wasn't long before I couldn't feel anything. The pain was excruciating however, the pain in my heart was the worst. I could feel blood trickling down from my forehead, past my eye and down my cheek until it fell off and dropped onto whatever was in the direct line.

Shawn's croaky voice was groaning in pain and I reached out for him but my hand was trapped under what felt like the airbag. I let out a cry for help as the sound of sirens echoed from the distance. I continued to cry out until a mask was placed over my face and oxygen was pushed through my airways causing me to feel slightly drowsy.

I started to come round to the sound of faint beeping. My eyes slowly opened and I blamed my hands into fists and rubbed the deep from my eyes. I was connected to many wire and an IV line which was connected to a drip. My mouth was dry and my body felt dirty. There was dried blood on my nails and my head was hurting.

The door squeaked open and a nurse in a pair of scrubs came into the room wheeling a tray filled with new bandages and other medical equipment.

"Oh good, you're awake." She smiled gently. "Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah, I guess, do you have any water?" I asked politely as I slowly moved myself to sit up a little bit.

"I don't have any with me but before I leave remind me to call someone to bring you some." I nodded and she pulled the chair up besides my bed and started to take my vitals. "So, tell me something interesting about yourself." She said as she started to change the IV in my arm using the question to distract me.

"Um, there's nothing really interesting about me" I chuckled.

"There must be something interesting about you. How about... do you have a boyfriend?" I blushed thinking about Shawn and I- Shawn.

"Shawn!" I said out loud. "Shawn, where is he? Is he okay? Shawn!" I panicked and her eyes widened. "Where's Shawn?" Tears started to stream down my cheeks as I urgently looked around for Shawn.

"Sh, is Shawn your boyfriend?" She asked. I nodded. "He's okay, he's fine. All he needs is some blood." I nodded again. "He's in good hands." She placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder and rubbed it gently.

I stayed silent whilst she continued to change my bandages and clean up my cuts. The same thoughts were rushing through my head. Is Shawn okay? Where is he? Is he alive? I couldn't live with the last thought. The thought of Shawn no-longer being by my side made my heart feel as if it was collapsing and made me yearn for him even more. I tried to counteract those thoughts by thinking positive he only needs blood! He's strong, he'll be able to survive! I love him, he can't leave.

"Can I give him blood?" I blurted out. The nurse stopped what she was doing.

"Pardon?" She asked.

"Can I give Shawn blood?"

"I-I-uh- I don't know. I don't think you're stable enough. I don't even know if you're the same blood type."

"Please, I can't let him go. I don't want him to go." She pulled out my file at the end of the bed. "I would rather sacrifice my life and allow him to live his dreams. Please" she flipped through the pages and scanned the information with a slight smile on her face.

"You won't die" she chuckled "but I'll speak to a doctor" she smiled at me whilst walking out with the trolley. "Oh, and I grab you something to drink now."

I waited a while before the same nurse returned alongside a doctor. She was carrying me a glass of water with a green straw.

"Here you go, my darling." I slowly sat up on the bed and placed my phone- which was miraculously left in a good condition- on the bedside table. She placed he cup carefully in my hands before muttering something to the doctor who took a seat at the chair besides me and

"Thank you." I said as she smiled and walked out of the hospital room.

The doctor had my records in his hands and he started to flip through the pages quickly before lifting his head and assessing me a little. Once he was finished he sat in the chair next to me again.

"Nina told me you wanted to give blood to Shawn, is that right?" I nodded. "Well, after looking at your records you are a match so I'm just gonna inform you about the procedure and the risks- I have to do this- and then we can start the transfusion as quickly as possible."  He quickly started to inform me about everything and I was transferred into a different room. A needle was placed on my arm and was attached to a drip which would collect the blood (a/n: I know nothing about these things so please don't attack me).

An hour or two later I was finished. A band aid was placed over the incision in my arm and I was taken back to my room where I slowly began to feel drowsy and tired.

I woke up to the sound of small sobs and sniffles from besides me. My eyes fluttered open slowly and I reached out my hand. A gasp was released from their lips and I turned to see Shawn eyes on me as his fingers were intertwined with mine.

"Oh, my, baby." He cried. He pressed his lips against my hand. "I'm sorry, I'm so so so sorry!" I released his hand from his and brought it up to his cheek.

"It's okay." I mumbled.

"No-"

"Shawn, just leave it, it never happened." His lip trembled.

"Thank you for what you did." He sniffled and placed his hand over mine which was still rested on his cheek. I wiped away a tear with my thumb and looked down at the boy I was in love with. I sent him a weak smile and he close his eyes as I caressed his cheek with my thumb.

"I love you." He opened his eyes and looked at me. His eyes were sad and dull with a watery rim but he let out a small smile.

"I love you too" i moved over and he crawled onto my bed next to me where we lay in each others embrace. We didn't speak, just listened to each other's heart beat.
