45- Baby

I twiddled my thumbs as I sat down at the breakfast bar, exhausted from the surprise baby shower planning for my bestfriend. She was due to have her baby in just over 3 months and boy, was she excited.

I let out a small sigh, all this planning made me realise that I wanted a baby. A little baby Mendes to keep my company whilst Shawn works. A little baby Mendes to make more precious memories with but mostly to start a family. It almost seemed an impossible thought due to Shawn working so frequent and long hours therefore it was hard for us to ever have some special time together or even discuss having a baby.

I decided to get a start in the dinner as Shawn would be home soon. I was planning on mentioning it to him but I wasn't going to be prepared for his response and I didn't know when to. I wanted to wait for the right moment.

Not long after Shawn hurried through the door dropping his bag at the end of the stairs and rushing into the kitchen his phone held by his ear as he placed his free hand on my waist and kissed it softly.

"Okay, sounds good, yep, bye now, bye" he shoved his phone into his back pocket before taking a seat at the table as I placed his food in front of him. He smiled and started to dig in. "This is really good babe, what did yo- y/n?" He asked. "What's wrong, you really don't seem yourself, do you feel sick? Is something bothering you?" I shook my head.

"I'm just a little tired that's all" I stabbed my spoon into the food and slowly picked at it.

"Nope" he said popping the p. "I don't believe you, please baby tell me what's wrong" he rose from his seat and walked over to me crouching down next to me. "Come on" he tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear.

"I don't know how you're going to respond but-" I paused a little and took in a deep breath. "I want a baby" his expression dropped. He doesn't want the same thing. "It's just planning this shower for y/b/n it's making me want one of our own. A little Mendes"

"Okay" his face lifted a little.

"What?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.

"You want a baby, I'll give you a baby but you gotta help" he winked causing me to smile and press a soft yet passionate kiss onto his lips.
