*knock knock*
"Come in," I laughed.
He had just knocked because he wanted to come into my hospital room.
He came in with two cups of coffee and two chocolate donuts. He smiled and handed me one cup and one donut.
"Thank you! That looks ten times more delicious than what I've been eating here," I laughed and took a bite out of my chocolate donut.
"Yeah, I have bad news."
"What?" I said, putting my coffee down.
"Tonights the full moon," he replied.
I sighed loudly and took a huge bite out of my donut.
"Sure we could compel someone to let me out of here, but I couldn't transform in this condition without severe pain."
"Yeah, I know. Christopher is out looking for a witch who could help us with that."
"She needs to be really powerful."
"Yet not too powerful in a way she could hurt us," he sighed.
"We'll just have to take a risk."
-
"Wake up, beautiful," I heard an oddly familiar voice call out, waking me up. I smiled, thinking it was Edison.
"Hi," I smiled.
"You know, you shouldn't have made it out alive," he chuckled.
My eyes flew open and I wiggled out of his grasp.
It was Aiden, alpha of The Luna's and my tormenter.
"W-what do you want?" I gulped.
"Oh sweetheart, don't be afraid. I'm only here to warn you."
"Warn me of what?" I scoffed.
"That this moon will be your last. Revenge will happen," he replied sternly.
I slapped him. He smirked.
"Goodbye for now, beautiful," he replied and disappeared.
I cried and hid under my cover.
I felt so pathetic. I couldn't protect myself from him, not in this condition. I can't have a babysitter my whole life, he is going to come back and I'm going to be a sitting duck.
-
I jumped up.
"Woah, its just me," Edison said, lifting his hands up in defense.
I sighed and laid back.
I had taken a nap and Edison totally scared the living crap out of me.
"H-he came."
"Who came? The Luna's?" Edison shouted.
I nodded and cupped my face in my sweaty palms.
He came over and sat next to me.
I cuddled with him and comfortably laid there as he played with my hair.
"I will protect you on my life," he whispered and kissed my forehead.
I shut my eyes and laid there, safe and cozy.
Then I heard footsteps walk in and I opened my eyes, still laying down on Edison.
Rick walked in with a bouquet of flowers.
"Oh, um-
I got up and blushed.
"Well, uh, I brought these for you," he said, holding out his flowers.
"Thank you," I smiled and took them.
I smelled them and giggled, "they smell amazing."
"Yeah. Oh, um what happened?"
"Fell down the stairs," I sighed.
"Ouch."
"So, who's he? Um, hi," Rick blushed.
"Hey," Edison smiled.
"Oh, um he's a friend."
Edison looked at me sadly but managed to pull off a smile.
"So, I should probably get going. Well I miss you, you should text me. Well, I-if you want to," he blushed.
I blushed back, "I will definitely text you."
He smiled and walked out.
"So, friend? Huh?" Edison laughed sadly.
"What else would you be?" I giggled.
"Oh, nothing," he scoffed.
"Okay look, I know theres been a lot going on between us but theres no need to be jealous of Rick. I don't need that," I replied.
"Yeah. You're right, you don't. So I should get going," he smiled.
"Wait, Edison!" I shouted, realizing what a jerk I am being.
He stopped in the doorway but didn't turn around to face me.
"I'm still going to protect you with my life," he replied and continued walking out.
