Mai Ding had no idea how he fell asleep last night. He thought that he would be able to think of a way to deal with this situation, but he found that his mind was completely blank. Never mind then, since things are already like this, even if it's a gun, I'll have to use my chest to block it.
He opened the door, his parents were already up. When Mai Ding's mother saw that Mai Ding was up, she took a bag and walked into the room, rushing to pack things into it: "Go to your Grandma's house for a while, I'll help you ask for leave from school. You haven't seen Grandma in a long time."
"I'm not going."
"How could you say something like that? You don't even want your own Grandmother anymore?"
"You know that I didn't mean it like that, mom, I..."
"You what? There's nothing to be said."
Mai Ding grabbed the bag away: "You obviously already know, so why do you lie to yourself? If you really don't believe it, then why are you taking me to Grandma's place?"
"I don't know what you're talking about. Okay, stop talking, I don't want to listen." Mai Ding's mother once again stopped Mai Ding. She really did not want to listen, she would rather live in her own imaginary world.
Mai Ding grasped his mother's shoulders in an attempt to wake her up a bit: "Mom, I like An Ziyan, I love An Ziyan, I only want An Ziyan."
Mai Ding's mother raised her hand and gave Mai Ding a slap, a crisp sound, and a numb sensation on his face. Mai Ding's mother was also startled by her own actions, she rarely hit Mai Ding. She touched Mai Ding's face with her hand and the tears in her eyes couldn't help but fall down: "You know that Mother didn't mean to hit you, but how could you say such a thing to hurt Mother's heart? How could you fall in love with a man?"
"I only like him."
"Stop saying such nonsense. What do you children know about love? You can't just play around in life, you two are still in this society, and this society will never accept you." Never! What a clear-cut word. What a heavy shackle. She continued to pack the bag: "We can also move houses again. That way, you can have a new start and everything will slowly get better."
"A new start? Perhaps you don't understand, if I leave An Ziyan, I will become nothing at all."
"He's a man, what's so good about him?" Mai Ding's mother just couldn't understand. Although she knew that An Ziyan was an outstanding child, but he was still a man.
"You aren't me, so how could you see the good in him?" Mai Ding asked.
"Don't say these things that make me angry anymore, I'm just going to pretend that your head is a little dizzy. Mother also already took leave from the company so I'll go to Grandmother's house with you to relax a bit."
"I'm not going."
"You have to. Why do you not understand Mother's pains?"
Mai Ding finally let out his feelings and shouted: "What's wrong with two men being together? Other than not being able to have children, other than not being able to be understood, other than these two things, how are we any different from others? And as for these two aspects, the first one is something that we can endure, the second one is something that you all imposed on us. Just because you aren't used to it, you tell me not to do it. Why? Why must you use the things that you think are right to destroy my love, which has done nothing wrong? Are the things that I so desperately try to protect so unbearable in your eyes?"
"Stop talking, it's useless. You'll understand in the future that this is all for your own good. Get ready, Uncle is coming to pick us up in a little while." Mai Ding's mother closed the door, leaving Mai Ding standing in the room alone.
Mai Ding lowered his head, it was always that one phrase: "it's for your own good". Where did you learn what is best for me? Not from my heart, that's for sure. So it actually wasn't that simple and easy to persuade them, so your sincerity can't actually move others. No matter how pure this love is, you still can't get the envy of others, only fear and loathing instead.
Just because he's a man, ah, what a just and honorable reason.
Uncle's car came quickly. Mai Ding's mother only said that they were going back to stay for a few days, she didn't say anything else to other people. Mai Ding stood there while Mai Ding's father didn't even speak a single word, not even sparing Mai Ding a single glance.
"Let's go. What are you standing there for? Uncle is waiting for us." Mai Ding's mother urged.
Mai Ding bit his lower lip then followed his mother out the door and into the car. If you think that everything will be clear just by taking me away from An Ziyan, then you're wrong. I already tried that before, it was useless. Mai Ding glanced at his mother, then turned around and stared out the window.
An Ziyan's text was sent over: "No matter what happens, you're not allowed to cry."
Mai Ding smiled and quickly sent a reply: "As if! Only you would make me cry. Right now you're not leaving me, not quarreling with me, not getting married to Xiao Si, and not disappearing. Right now you're right beside me, so why would I cry?"
"If you're tired then let me come over."
"I'm not tired. As long as I think that no matter what happens, I will still have you, then I don't feel tired at all."
"Yeah, no matter what happens, you have me."
Mai Ding stuffed his phone back into his bag, took a deep breath, and rolled down the window. As the wind blew in, it messed up Mai Ding's hair. It was as if he was fully-charged and his mood was a lot more relaxed. When he stretched his hand out the window to feel the strength of the wind against his fingers, his mother stopped him: "Don't put your hand out the window, it's really dangerous."
Mai Ding turned his head, the sunlight hitting his face and bright smile: "Mom, don't you think it's weird? No matter what happens, no matter how much the people around me bully me or look down on me, I still like An Ziyan. His every word is the reason why I'm happy for an entire day. His every action can become an excuse for how much I love him."
Mai Ding's mother's face paled and she glanced at the uncle who was sitting in front of them driving, but fortunately he didn't hear anything because he was on the phone. She then turned her head around and was surprised by the happy expression on Mai Ding's face, he smiled so much that his eyes were narrowed.
"You're not allowed to say things like this anymore." Mai Ding's mother scolded.
"I have him, so what's there to be afraid of?" Mai Ding stopped talking and placed his head against the window.
I am a man, so we cannot love each other.
