For the past few nights, Mai Ding stayed up late in order to study; he was still thinking about being a part of the education committee. However, what made him really upset was while he was studying his butt off, An Ziyan was playing computer games not too far away. It wasn't like An Ziyan was disturbing his studies, because An Ziyan never spoke a single word from start to finish.
"Hey, don't you need to study a bit?"
"Don't distract me."
"Me? Distract you? How can I distract you when all you're doing is playing a game?"
"I'm fighting a boss right now."
Mai Ding's book flew across the room but An Ziyan caught it. He took a glance at the book and threw it back: "The third question is wrong."
"Seriously? I felt pretty confident about it." Mai Ding continued to read his books. An Ziyan looked at the time and saw that it was already two in the morning. He stood up and kicked Mai Ding: "I'm going to sleep."
"Okay, goodnight." Mai Ding didn't even turn his head back to look at him.
An Ziyan frowned: "The rule in this house is that you have to sleep when I sleep."
"When did we set this rule? How come I don't know about it?"
An Ziyan bent down and carried Mai Ding on his shoulders: "I just made it."
"What are you doing? Let me down. Wait until I finish that question."
"Finish what question? During the exam, I'll help you cheat." An Ziyan said it naturally, but this kind of behaviour seemed to be wrong.
"W-who wants to cheat? I don't want to use that kind of rotten trick." For some things, Mai Ding was a upright and honest person.
An Ziyan threw Mai Ding on the bed: "I dare you to move one inch away from this bed."
Mai Ding wanted to struggle against An Ziyan at first, but he obediently lay in bed instead. When he closed his eyes, An Ziyan also lay down next to him and turned off the lights. The room darkened and after a long while, Mai Ding heard An Ziyan's even breathing. He thought that An Ziyan was asleep so he opened his eyes and sat up.
"Are you going to write the exam? Or are you going directly to the morgue?"
Goosebumps appeared on Mai Ding's arms as he obediently went back to sleep; he didn't dare make another move.
The next day, Mai Ding got out of bed with big dark circles surrounding his eyes. An Ziyan looked at Mai Ding, disgusted: "Look at your panda face."
"You're disgusted just because I have dark circles? Then what would you do if they turned into swimming rings?"
"I'd pack you into a box and sink it to the bottom of the sea."
"An Ziyan!!!"
Mai Ding couldn't beat An Ziyan so he angrily ran to pack his bags and got ready to go to school. When he arrived, Mai Ding couldn't wait to open his books. He didn't know if he was born stupid or if he just forgot everything because he was too nervous. The things he memorized the day before became a jumbled mess. Mai Ding grabbed his hair and bashed his head against the desk.
An Ziyan watched him coldly on the side: "Don't get your blood everywhere."
"You're so ruthless, can't you see that I'm distressed?"
