After An Ziyan brought Mai Ding home, Mai Ding kept thinking about the bag that was inside the car. However, the car was at the repair shop and An Ziyan didn't allow Mai Ding to go outside, so all he could do was worry. Although Grandpa An and other people were very concerned about him, this incident made Wu Xin dislike Mai Ding even more.
"Be more careful the next time you drive, Little Ding. It's a good thing nothing serious happened. If anything happened to you, how would I face your parents?" Grandpa An's scolding tone couldn't hid his worry and care.
"I'm sorry, my sloppiness made you all worry." Mai Ding felt very guilty as well.
Wu Xin snorted coldly: "I'm not worried about you, but if you're like this, what if one day my son gets harmed because of you? Can you even make it up to me?"
"I-I will be careful from now on."
"That's what you say now. It's the holidays, yet you deliberately show yourself in front of me and didn't let me get a moment of peace and quiet. What did you come here for?"
"Wu Xin!" Grandfather An and An Xun snapped at the same time. If they were outside, Wu Xin would never lose control like that; she had always been an elegant and gentle woman. But she just happened to encounter Mai Ding, who made her forget all about her image.
Mai Ding hung his head down. Even though he told himself not to care about it, even if he can become used to pain, it will still hurt. Wu Xin's words were like a thorn that kept stabbing Mai Ding at the same spot over and over again.
"That's enough, Mom. I don't want to argue with you so please stop talking so much." An Ziyan took the gauze and ointment that An Su brought over and didn't give Wu Xin a single glance. He just stared at the wound on Mai Ding's head as he slowly replaced the gauze; this was to prevent any infections.
"I can't even scold him?"
"Don't go too overboard."
"I'm going overboard? Tell me exactly how I'm going overboard. Where am I going overboard?"
Mai Ding pulled An Ziyan's sleeve: "Stop it, this is all my fault anyway."
After An Ziyan finished changing the gauze, he said coldly with seemingly no feelings at all: "I didn't bring you home for you to suffer."
"Ziyan, do you mean that I'm making him suffer? The one who's suffering is me, I never understood what is so good about this boy." Wu Xin said relentlessly.
Even An Su couldn't stand it anymore: "Mom~~ arguing like this isn't good."
Mai Ding shook his head: "I never felt like I was suffering."
An Ziyan threw the old gauze away and completely ignored Wu Xin: "Does it still hurt?"
Mai Ding shook his head. An Ziyan stood up and stuffed his hands in his pockets: "I'm going to take a shower." After, he slowly walked upstairs. When he was halfway up, he suddenly stopped: "Hey, Mai Ding."
"Ah?!"
"You don't have to put up her. I allow you to talk back and to throw a fit. Don't be afraid, I'm here to support you." These words were not only said to Mai Ding, they were also said for Wu Xin to hear. Mai Ding was stunned and didn't know how to reply. His feelings were two-sided: he was moved, but he also felt that these words would definitely make Wu Xin even more angry.
He absolutely would not talk back to Wu Xin, absolutely not. With these words, Mai Ding was already very happy. After all, Wu Xin wasn't just anyone, she was An Ziyan's mother, the person who gave birth to An Ziyan. As long as it was something related to An Ziyan, Mai Ding was very grateful to it.
