Bouts of fresh air flowed through the darkness and as the heavy clouds gradually receded, pathways were paved for the morning's first rays of sunlight to shine through. One ray of light, two rays of light, then countless rays of light scattered through the clouds. They gently fell over the entire city, on the balcony railings, through the windows, and filled countless hearts with happiness. Finally, they playfully shone on Mai Ding's pillow. Mai Ding rubbed his sleepy eyes and sat up. The Mr. Hat alarm clock next to his bed was never allowed to play its role because Mai Ding always got up before the alarm went off.

After washing up, Mai Ding tidied the room and got dressed. Then, he went back to the bedroom: "An Ziyan, how long are you going to keep sleeping? We still have class today!"

There was no movement from the person lying in bed.

Mai Ding put his hands on his hips and started the usual nagging: "Look at you, you're almost a fourth year student but you're still so lazy! I feel ashamed that a hopeless guy like you will enter our society in the future. Look at me, how come I can wake up on time?"

A pillow zipped towards him and slammed Mai Ding in the face: "Can you be quiet? Can't you see that I'm sleeping?"

"Look at the time! You're still going to sleep? We'll be late for class."

"I don't care."

"Of course you don't care, but I'm a member of the education committee. My job is to be a leader. If I'm late, then I'm not doing my job."

"You can always go first."

"I'm an education committee member. How can I leave a student behind like this? That goes against my noble character."

After seeing that the logical route wouldn't work, Mai Ding rolled back and forth on top of An Ziyan: "Time to get up, An Ziyan."

Not wanting to be bothered anymore, An Ziyan finally kicked Mai Ding off the bed and sat up: "Jeez, what are you yelling for?"

Mai Ding placed the clothes that he prepared for An Ziyan next to him on the bed and didn't forget to add: "Hurry up, okay?"

Mai Ding originally wanted to make breakfast after An Ziyan woke up, but there wasn't enough time now, especially seeing that An Ziyan had no intention of hurrying up. He was so anxious that his head was practically imploding, but he didn't dare to rush An Ziyan any more. He waited by the door, foot tapping uncontrollably and wide eyes darting back and forth. When An Ziyan finally walked to the door and put on his shoes, Mai Ding dragged An Ziyan and hurriedly exited their home. What he didn't expect was to slip on the staircase. Just as Mai Ding was about to witness his own skull crack open before his eyes, a strong force pulled him from behind and Mai Ding retreated to the safety of An Ziyan's arms.

"Be careful."

"This isn't the time to be careful, we're going to be late."

Mai Ding was extremely concerned about his image of being a "good student". Thankfully, when they arrived at their classroom, the bell just rung. However, when Mai Ding turned his head back, An Ziyan was gone. He was still there when they entered the school gates, so where did he run off to? Halfway through the class, An Ziyan walked in. The professor wasn't particularly surprised; as long as his grades were good, the rest was irrelevant.

"Where did you go?"

"I went to eat breakfast."

"You know we're students, right? Where's your discipline?"
