Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 13

A/N: Doing another time jump and you may get another update on this tonight because right now I'm on a roll with the writing. Oh and this has adult language in it. 

Lucas POV

Everything had been going really well with Maya however I was starting to wonder if this was a bad idea. Jordan had been asking me a lot lately if Maya was going to be his Mommy. I kept reiterating to him that this isn't what this meant and every time that I did that the look of sadness on my sons face about killed me. I had just got done giving him a bath and putting him into bed when I was walking by his room. I could hear him crying in there so of course I became alarmed and walked in. 

"Jordan?" I said as I walked in and sat down on his bed. "What's wrong?" 

"I want Maya to be my Mommy." he sniffled. 

"Jordan we have talked about this already." I said to him as he crawled into my lap. 

"I know but every one else in my class has a Mommy but me." he replied and I hugged him. 

"I know that and I'm sorry that it makes you sad." I replied. 

"Maya helps me with my homework, she feeds me dinner, and when we stay at her house or she stays here she reads me stories before bed. She does everything that a Mommy does so why can't she be my Mommy?" 

"Because Jordan if Maya and I don't work out then we don't want you to be devastated by it. I know that this is hard for you to understand but you can still have a happy and fun time with Maya." I replied and he just nodded at me. "We will talk more tomorrow but for now you need to go to sleep." 

"Can I sleep with you tonight Daddy?" he asked and I sighed. 

"Lets go but only for tonight." I said to him. 

It didn't take Jordan that long to go to sleep. I wasn't ready for bed yet so I went out into the living room once he was down and out. I picked up my phone off the table and had an unread text message from Maya.  Usually I responded to her right away but this time I didn't. I hated seeing my son so upset like this and needed to think about if what I was doing was a good thing for him. I placed my phone back on the table and turned on the football game that was on. I felt bad not responding to Maya but I just needed time to think this whole thing through. She had texted me a few times after that and I ignored those too. I knew that by ignoring her it was going to hurt her which is the last thing I'd ever want to do to her. After the game ended I went to bed and that night I didn't sleep very well. The next day I dropped off Jordan at school and left before Maya got there. I didn't know what I was going to do about work. I guess I would have to figure out someway to avoid her. 

Maya POV

When Lucas didn't reply to my texts last night it really worried me but today when I dropped Lily off at school and Jordan was already there I really started getting concerned. What was going on with Lucas? Why was he avoiding me? After dropping Lily off I headed straight into work but when I got there I had a note telling me that certain things needed done. When I finally reached a point where I could take a break I went to go find Lucas but he wasn't there. I was really starting to get upset. Everyday him and I usually got lunch together so this was completely out of character. I wasn't even able to talk to him because every time he would come out of the room he would go straight to his office and close the door. I texted Riley at about 3:00 and told her to get the kids but she told me that Jordan had a note that Zay would picking him up. I told Riley to take Lily for me and that I'd get her later. My plan was to stay there until he got done working. I was going to talk to him one way or another. Once everyone left I waited for him to come out of his office. It was about 5 minutes before I heard his office door opened. Our eyes locked and I looked up at him. 

"Do you mind telling me why the hell you've been avoiding me all day and why you didn't answer my texts messages last night?" I said with annoyance showing in my voice. 

"I need to go pick up my son." he said and I was shocked by his tone. 

"You can do that after you tell me what is wrong." I replied. 

"I'm sorry Maya but I don't think it's a good idea that we see each other anymore." he replied and I stood there shocked. 

"Why?" I asked him my voice clearly shaky. 

"It's just not a good idea." he replied. 

"Why is it not a good idea?" I asked. "What happened? I thought everything was going really good." 

"It's just not a good idea. You know I thought it was at first but now I'm just rethinking everything." 

"Well what made you re-think it?" 

"Can't you fucking give it up already? It just isn't a good idea. I'm sorry but I can't fucking do this right now. I need to get home to my son." he answered. 

"Why what happened did you fucking meet some other girl? Did the previous assistant finally get to you? What the fuck happened? Everything was all fine and dandy last night." I all but yelled at him. 

"I got to go" and with that Lucas opened the door. I stormed out without saying another word to him.  

What in the hell just happened? I texted Riley and told her to keep Lily over night for me that Lucas broke up with me. She seemed shocked by it all and I talked to her in text for a little bit and she tried to make me feel better but I wasn't feeling good at all.
