Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 2

A/N: For anyone who read the first chapter I have changed the fathers name and have decided to not use Josh. The family tree would be too screwed up. Lol

Maya POV

Lily and I walked hand in hand in hand towards her new school. As we got closer Caleb  was standing in the front waiting for us. Lily ran up to him so excited to see her Dad. He picked her up and she wrapped his arms around his neck. 

"Are you ready for school?" he asked and she nodded yes in response. 

Caleb put her back down on the ground and then looked up at me "Hello, Maya." he said to me. 

"Hi! Thanks for coming by on her first day." I answered. We started walking into the school.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." he answered. 

We walked into the classroom and were greeted by Riley as soon as she saw us. Lily saw the other kids hanging up their backpacks and asked us if she could put her backpack up too. Caleb took her over and helped her with that as I stood there and talked to Riley. 

"How you holding up peaches?" she asked already knowing it was a bit of a struggle for me that this was Lily's first day of Kindergarten. 

"It's going Riles. She's so excited." I answered. 

By this time Lily had run back up to us, "Where do I sit Aunt Riley?" she asked excitedly. 

Riley leaned down her to level and smiled at her "Remember what we talked about? You call me Mrs. Minkus while in school." she replied. 

Lily nodded at her "Where is my chair Mrs. Minkus." she asked again. 

"One of the tables has your name it. I think you sit by the new student Jordan Friar at the table with the blue chairs." .

"Thanks Riles!" I replied to her. I turned to look at Lily "Come on lets go get you seated." 

Caleb and I walked over to the table and found where Lily was to be seated. Riley put her at the table that was closest to her desk. One thing that is helping me get through this whole ordeal of my baby starting school is the simple fact that my best friend is her teacher. I know that she will be in good hands. Caleb kneeled down by Lily and told her that he had to get going.  Just as I turned around to watch Caleb leave I noticed a man walking towards us with his young son. We locked eyes and I turned away so he didn't see me staring. This wasn't just any man any either. I think this was the hottest guy I have ever set my eyes on. 

Lucas POV

When Jordan and I arrived at the school a lot of the students were already in their classrooms. We were only a couple minutes late. Mrs. Minkus seemed to be very nice and she treated Jordan very well. He seemed to like her already. She told us that he was seated at the table with the blue chairs.  We took his backpack and jacket over to the coat rack so that he could hang them both up and then together made our way to the table. As we were walking towards the table I saw that there was a blonde haired woman standing by her daughter. I didn't see her face until she turned around to watch who I assume to be her husband leave. She was beautiful, her blonde hair flowed perfectly down her shoulders. She wasn't that tall either and had the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen.  Our eyes locked, she got a cute blush on her face, and then turned back away putting her attention back on her daughter. I walked over to the table and got Jordan settled in his spot, By that the time the beautiful blonde had now left and was over talking to Mrs. Minkus. I leaned down to Jordan to talk him before I had to go. 

"Listen, bud I want you to have a fun day at school, okay?" I said to him.

"I will Dad." he answered. "Love you bud." 

"I'll be your friend." a sweet little dark haired girl sitting next to him said. "My name is Liliana Grace Anderson" she said as he held out her small hand to my son. 

"Hi Liliana nice to meet you. This is Jordan."  I said introducing the two." 

Once I saw that Jordan had completely forgot I was there I told him that I was going to go and would pick him up after school. I made my way towards the door to leave noticing the beautiful blonde girl was still there talking to Mrs. Minkus.  

Maya POV

I walked over to Riley to talk to her before I left. I couldn't stop staring at the guy who just walked in with his son. He was wearing jeans that really did something good for his ass. Riley of course catches me staring. 

"Maya!" she low whispered 

"What?" I said breaking my attention to her. 

"What are you doing? You haven't stop staring at him since he walked in." Riley replied and I immediately started blushing. 

"I have never in my life set eyes a guy as hot as that. I'm sorry I couldn't help myself and she just started laughing. 

"Why, don't you go over and talk to him? He and his son are clearly talking to Lily." she said to me. 

"I can't Riley. Not at my daughters school. Plus I have to get home and take Lily's kitten to the vet." I answered trying to throw off an excuse to not walk over. "Plus I just worry about meeting new guys and what it would do to Lily." 

"Maya, you gotto get over yourself and  put yourself out there at some point." she answered "But I won't push you on it." 

"Thanks Riles" I said as I watched the man start to walk away and out the door he went. 

Maybe RIley is right and I should try to start putting myself out there. The problem is there is no way that this guy is single.  I gave Riley a hug before going over and telling Lily good-bye and that I would see her later. Riley said that she would text me later to tell me how Lily was doing. I thanked her and then left.
