Maya POV

I was fairly excited about taking Lily to school this morning and one would think I'd still be struggling but I wasn't because I was looking forward to seeing Lucas again. Why was I so stuck on him when I just met him? We haven't even really talked much. After Liliana was dressed and ready to go we headed on out to her school. She loved having Aunt Riley as a teacher. Once there she put her things away and I walked over to talk to Riley just as Lucas walked in the room.

"Good morning, Peaches." she said as I walked up to her.

"Hey Riles." I said to her. "Lily was excited to come to school this morning so she could see her new friend."

I was trying to not make it obvious but I could't help but look at how hot Lucas looked "Who was more excited you or Lily?" she chuckled.

I looked over at her with a surprised expression on her my "What?" I said to her.

"You haven't stopped looking at Lucas since he walked in." she grinned.

"I was making sure Lily was okay." I lied.

"You were not!" she whispered.

I rolled my eyes "Fine was I checking him out. I can't help it he's just so hot."

"You're so funny, Maya." she replied back.

I just rolled my eyes in response. I watched as Lucas interacted with his son. He seemed like such a good dad. Lucas was kneeling to Jordan's level and I could tell he was saying something, a couple seconds later Jordan gave him a hug, and then turned to sit next to Lily. I watched as he interacted with my daughter and how she laughed at something he said. I looked at the clock and realized I had to get going but before I left I wanted to say bye to Lily.

"Okay peanut, Mommy's go to go to work." I said causing Lily to look up to me.

"I want a hug first Mommy." she said as she got up off her chair and walked over to me.

I picked her up and she wrapped her arms before giving me a big hug. I kissed her on the cheek and sat her back down noticing Lucas was looking at me "I love you, be good and have fun with Jordan." I then kneeled down by Jordan "You have a good day too kiddo." I smiled at him.

"Thank you, I will." he said with a smile.

"Thanks for being so kind to him, Maya." Lucas said and I looked over and he was smiling.

"Don't mention it. Lily couldn't stop talking about him yesterday." I laughed.

"Jordan talked my ear off too after I picked him up." he chuckled. "I'm getting ready to go you want to walk out with me?"

"Sure." I replied.

I told Lily good bye once again and together Lucas and I made our way towards the door. I glanced over at Riley who was looking at me with a smile on her face. I rolled my eyes at her and kept going.

"How are you doing today?" Lucas asked breaking the silence as we left the school together.

"I'm great, thank you for asking." I replied.

"That's good. You look beautiful today by the way." he said causing me to blush.

"Thank you." I replied.

"This might sound crazy but I was wondering if you would like to go out sometime to get to know each other more? You know I just thought with the kids becoming friends it might be nice." he asked me.

I was kind of surprised by this and it took me a few seconds to respond "I'm sorry but I'm but I'm not really into bringing a man into my life right now. Liliana is little yet and I don't want her to be confused." I replied which caused him to get a disappointed look on his face.

"It's okay. I'm sorry that I asked." he replied.

"Don't be." I said with a smile. "But I have to get going I'll see you after school." I replied.

I walked over to my car and got in driving off to work. What was I doing? Why didn't I just say yes? Riley was going to kill me if she ever found out.  Work went rather slow today and before I knew it, it was time to pick up Lily at school.  The kids were getting their things so I walked over to Riley.

"Hey Riles." I said and she turned to look at me.

"Hey, Peaches!"s she exclaimed. "How did it go walking out with Lucas this morning?"

"He asked me out and I turned him down." I replied.

"What? Maya are you crazy?" she said.

"I'm not going through this again, Riles." I said before walking off to get my daughter.

Riley POV

Maya left before Lucas got there today. I think she was trying to avoid him. I could tell she wanted to get to know him more but was holding back on it. Maya hasn't really dated since Caleb because Lily has always been her number one. I really needed to break her of this and I have a good feeling about Lucas.  Once Lucas entered the classroom and was about to leave I decided to take matters into my own hands.

"Lucas? Come here for a minute. I'd like to talk to you."

Lucas looked up and he walked up to me with a look of concern on his face. "What's wrong? Is it something with Jordan?"

"No, no no! Nothing with Jordan. Look I know this may sound wierd but I want to invite you to dinner tomorrow at my place and I want you to bring Jordan with you." I replied.

"Okay, but why the dinner invite? This wouldn't have something to do with Maya would it?" I asked.

"It has everything to do with Maya. I know she turned you down today when you asked her out. I need to break her of this." I replied truthfully.

"Oh I don't know. I don't want to force her into anything." he answered.

"You're not. It's just dinner. Please come." I insisted.

"Alright, fine I'll come! As long as she knows I had nothing to with it." he chuckled.

"Oh trust me she won't. She will know it's all me. I'm not even telling her you are going to be there. " I laughed.  "Come to my place at 6:00."

"I'll be there." he smiled.

I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down my address for him "This is my address! I'm looking forward to this. Liliana will be excited to show Jordan her playroom."

"Thanks Riley!" he said before taking the paper from me.

After all of my students left and I got some things done in my classroom I head on out. I texted Farkle and told him I'd be stopping at the grocery store so I wouldn't be home at the usual time. Maya was going to kill me for this but I know in the long run it will be good for her. I couldn't wait for dinner tomorrow night.
