A/N: Went more out of my comfort zone again for this one. lol.

Maya POV

Today was Christmas Eve and because of everything that had happened the day before our focus was on both the kids especially Jordan. He seemed to be doing okay but Lucas still planned on getting him into see someone when we got back to NYC because he was concerned that what happened would leave effects on him. Lucas Pappy Joe, Grandma. and Uncle Cletus were came over for a little party that his Mom was putting on. Sarah contacted a family friend about dressing up as Santa for the kids to which the friend agreed to do. The kids were so happy. Once the party ended I took the kids and put them to bed. Lucas had something planned for me and him but wouldn't tell me what. In fact he had totally disappeared when I was bathing the kids and putting them to bed. He still wasn't back yet when I had come back downstairs. I wrapped Jordan's present from me and placed it under the Christmas tree. His Mom and I were in the middle of conversation when he finally returned.

"You ready?" he said to me as he walked into the room.

I nodded "Whenever you are." I replied.

Lucas took my hand and led me outside. He had his four wheeler parked out in front of the house. He sat down on it and turned the key on.

"Hop on." he said to me.

I got on the back of it and he took off . The ride was about 8 minutes long. I was so confused by where we were going but I didn't say anything. When we got to where he took us he had a campfire lit up with a blanket sprawled out on the ground and a basket that had what I assume to be food inside of it as well as a bottle of wine sticking out of it.

"Wow, Huckleberry you really went all out What is the occasion?" I said as we walked over to the blanket.

"What? I can't just treat my beautifuli girlfriend to a picnic by a campfire under the stars? I'm offended." he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, drama king. But really I love it. You really are the best boyfriend." I said to him.

Lucas and I sat down on the blanket. I was sitting in front him as I leaned my back against his chest. It really was such a romantic setting. I have to give Lucas major props. It was like out of a movie. The sky was clear and starlit with a crescent moon and there was no other sound than the fire making cackling noises.

"You want some wine?" Lucas said breaking the silence.

"Sure." I replied.

Lucas pulled the wine bottle out and glasses out of the basket and began to fill them up. He handed me mine and then filled up his. We toasted and I caught him staring at me.

"You're so beautiful, Maya." he said and I took a sip of my wine.

I leaned in and kissed him softly. "Thank you. You always know how to make me feel special."

"Good because I don't want you feel anything but special." he replied.

I tilted my head back to look up at him and placed his hand on his cheek pulling him down to me "You're so sweet. How'd I get so lucky?" I said as I pulled his face to his and kissed him softly.

Lucas POV

Maya kissing me was exactly what i needed to happen so that she had a distraction while I started putting into motion what I had planned for the last month. I continued to kiss her a at the same time moved my hand to my pocket. I prayed that I could pull this off without her knowing what I was doing and luckily I was able to do just that. The one thing about Maya is I knew how to get her lost in a kiss with me. I pulled the small box out of my pocket just as she pulled the way. Now i just needed the perfect moment and hoped so badly I could pull this off. I even went as far as to have Riley involved in helping me. I placed the small box beside me where Maya couldn't see. I pulled my phone out and sent a text to Riley because this was where she came in. I needed her to start texting Maya with some fake story to call her. Maya's phone went off alerting her to a text and sure enough she fell for it hook line and sinker.
