Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 35

Maya POV

Lucas and I were awake most the night talking about our plans for the future. We even talked about getting a bigger place together so that we were prepared when the family expanded. He told me how much he loved me and how much he couldn't wait to tell the kids about it. I told him I couldn't wait either and that I was excited to see what apartments they had in the city, the told me he wanted to build me house on his farm land somewhere down the line. I told him that I would like that because it would be a big change but I didn't know how Caleb would react to that. I did love it here. It was so different than the city. We talked and talked until we both fell asleep. We were sleeping so soundly we didn't even hear the kids come in. 

"MOMMY WAKE UP." Lily said as she jumped up and down on the bed. 

"Daddy! Santa came. I want to open my presents." Jordan said as he also jumped on the bed. 

I looked over at Lucas as the kids jumped on the bed yelling at us to wake up. "Can't we just let them open presents without us." he said and I started laughing. 

"How about we let them open presents now and then your Mom can keep them while we nap." I said to him. 

"Fine." he mumbled. 

"I want to give Jordan his present first. I brought it up here with me last night. I figure we can do it in private with him." I replied. 

"Give it to him now. "he smiled. 

"Mommy come one lets go." Lily said as she crawled on top of me. 

I hugged her tightly. "Soon. I have to give Jordan something first."  

Jordan crawled up in between me and Lucas and laid in between us. 

"Maya has something for you Jordan." Lucas said. 

"Lily move off me for a minute baby." I said and she moved off me. 

I sat up opened the bed side table pulling out the little box. I turned back to look at Jordan. "Jordan I want you to open this with just me, Daddy. and Lily okay?" he nodded so I continued "This is from me, I want you to open it." 

"Wait, don't you think we should tell them about the other thing first?" Lucas said and then I realized he was right that we probably should.

"Yeah I think we should actually. Jordan hold that thought don't open that present yet." I replied and he nodded. 

Lucas POV

I placed Lily in my lap and looked at her. Her dark hair all disheveled from sleeping. There were times I looked at her and he couldn't believe how much she looked like Maya with dark hair. 

"Can I talk to you for a minute, Lily?" I asked her. 

"Yes." she replied. 

"Lily last night I asked your Mommy a very important question and I want to know if it's okay with you too." I said to her. 

She looked at me confused "What did you ask her?" 

"I asked your Mommy if she would marry me. Is that okay with you?" I asked her. 

Lily turned her head and looked at Maya "Mommy?" she said 

"What is it baby?" Maya asked her. 

"Please tell me you said yes. I want a brother." she said to her and I busted up laughing.  She really did have Maya's sense of humor and quick wit about her. 

"Seriously child?" Maya said to her. "Yes, Lily I told him yes." 

Lily turned back to look at me "Yes, Lucas I want you to marry my Mommy. You're her prince charming just like Snow White has a Prince Charming."
