Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 43

Lucas POV

Today was my son's 6th birthday. Where has the  time gone? It seems like yesterday that it was the beginning of the journey that life created for him and I. From the moment I held my baby boy in my arms I knew that I couldn't give him up even though his Mom didn't want him. It was love at first sight and there was no going back. What kind of Mom wouldn't even want to hold their son? I've learned since then that things happen for a reason and that maybe it was the universes way of leading us to Maya who has been nothing short of amazing with him and to me as well. I was in the middle looking at pictures on my phone when Maya took a seat beside me on the couch. 

"What are you up to, Huckleberry?" she said as she leaned in to look at what I was doing on my phone. 

"I was just looking through pictures of Jordan from when he was a baby. You know this is such a happy time for me but also kind of sad. I knew from the moment I held Jordan in my arms that regardless of what his Mom wanted that it would be just him and I no matter what happened. What kind of Mom wouldn't even want to hold their baby?" I said and I didn't even realize I was getting upset. 

Maya sighed and leaned her head onto my shoulder "First of all Huckleberry this is supposed to be a happy day not a sad one. I know it's hard, Lucas but you can't dwell on that. I'm not trying to defend the bitch but maybe she didn't hold him because it would be too hard for her to let him go. At least she wasn't one of those Mom's who abandon their baby on the side of the road. Besides life led you to me and even though his real Mom isn't in his life at least he has me."  

"I guess you have a point. Look how little he was. He's grown so much." I said as I handed her my phone. 

Maya chuckled "Oh my goodness he looks like you there. What a little chunk a monk." 

"Mama always talks about how he was identical to me as a baby. I'll show you a picture." I replied. I took my phone from Maya and pulled up a baby picture of me. I handed it back to here. "Here is a picture of me." 

"He does look like you. Awe baby Huckleberry look how cute you were." she said with a smile. 

"I've got to pick up Mama and Dad at the airport soon. I'll hang up so of those decorations for you before I go." I replied. 

"Good. He's so excited about his Ninja Turtle party." I chuckled. I'm going to go get a shower before you go." 

"Okay. I love you. Thank you Maya." I said as I leaned in and kissed her softly.

"I love you too." she replied. 

While Maya showered I hung up the decorations for her and cleaned up the living room.  I had just sat down on the couch when I heard her yelling for me. I got up off the couch and went back to our room to see what she needed. 

"Whats wrong?" I said as I walked into the room/ 

"I can't get my socks on because my belly is gigantic." she pouted and I couldn't help but laugh. 

I grabbed Maya's socks out of her hand then sat down beside her on the bed. "You're adorable. give me your legs" 

Maya scooted back some more on the bed and I helped her get her socks on. "Thanks Huckelberry." she said to me. 

"Anytime." I answered.

"You know if I can't reach my feet to put my socks on then that means you'll have to help me shave my legs right?" she said with a grin. "And I might have you paint my toenails too."

"Hmm I wonder how that will work out since you have the hottest legs ever and you know you make me weak when you're naked." I replied and she rolled her eyes. 

"I don't know how you can want me when I look like this." she chuckled. 

"Stop, you're beautiful." I said to her. 

After helping Maya I headed off to the airport to pick up on Mom and Dad. I was really excited to see them and I knew Jordan would be as well. My parents flying into NYC was Jordan's biggest birthday present from Maya and I. We figured since we hadn't seen them since Christmas that it would be a great time to fly them out. 

Maya POV

While Lucas was picking up his parents at JFK I made the kids get a bath and got them dressed for Jordan's party. I put a french braid in Lily's hair and she picked out a cute dress to wear at the party. Jordan wanted his hair spiked so that's what I did for him. I noticed the older he got the more he was really starting to look like his Dad. I even dressed him in an outfit that matched Lucas.  The kids and I were watching some TV when the door opened. Jordan looked up and his face lit up as soon as he saw his Nanna and Papa. I watched as he excitedly took off running towards them. 

"Nanna? Papa? What are you doing here?" Jordan said as he ran over to them. 

"We heard there was a party." Tony said. "Happy Birthday, rugrat." 

"Happy Birthday, baby." Sarah said as she picked him up. 

"I'm going to have a Ninja Turtle party. Nana made me my cake." Jordan said excitedly. 

"Sounds yummy. We can't wait to have some." Sarah said as she put him back down on the floor. 

Jordan has been calling my mom and Shawn "Nana and Pap" for awhile now. It was so cute. Sarah came in and sat beside me on the couch. This was the first time she saw me pregnant. 

"How you feeling honey?" she said with a smile. 

"I feel really good actually. Did Lucas tell you we felt them kick for the first time yesterday?" 

"He did! I can't wait to meet the little peanuts. I'm glad you are feeling good. You look good." she answered, 

"She's already buying stuff for them." Tony chimed in. 

"I can't help it." Sarah chuckled. 

Me, Lucas, and his parents visited for a little bit then people started showing up. Riley's belly was really growing. She and Farkle planned on naming their son Finley Alan Minkus. I really liked the name Finley. She looked so cute pregnant too. Jordan had lots of fun at his party. He loved the Ninja Turtle lair play set that Lucas and I got him and also loved all of his other gifts. His birthday cake turned out perfect and was so good. My mom always did make the best cakes. After everyone left the kids, Lucas, his parents and I just hung out and visited some more as the kids played. I was happy that Jordan's party was success. He was so happy that his Nanna and Papa were here and it was nice to have them here too.
