A/N: Anything that's irritating can eventually become normal if you see it happening repeatedly at enough times. But what if something like this grows on Vergil?
[Bad Boy; Good Girl]
"Yo," Dante greeted his brother as he hung up his famous red coat, dropping his weapons haphazardly on the top of the table, "She's here again. Do something."
Vergil looked up from the book that he had been perusing just in time to see Dante's shadow disappearing behind the door to the bathroom. The lifeless greeting from his brother probably meant that Dante had had a bad day. It had been quite some time since Dante last came back and that probably meant that the mission must not have quite have gone down the way Dante expected.
But momentarily, Vergil's concern did not extend too far to his brother but at the figure who stood behind the foggy, dusty glass of the windows of the main door. The familiar face peeked through the window, and it happened that their eyes met at the moment that Vergil looked towards the door. There was a widening of eyes before the face disappeared quickly from the door.
Vergil had gone through this motion enough times to know that even though the woman had been shocked when their eyes met, she must have not gone too far. This was becoming a habit; a habit that Vergil didn't exactly appreciate. Coming to his feet, Vergil stepped away from the couch where he had been lounging at, across the office and towards the entrance of the office of Devil May Cry.
He opened the one side of the double doors, and wasn't surprised at all to find the woman standing uncertainly at the bottom of the small steps leading up to Devil May Cry.
"How many times must I ask this? Leave if you don't have any business with us." He demanded again with a frown, wondering how many more times he had to do this. He didn't exactly remember when he first met this woman, but he began to take notice when she constantly appeared at their doorstep, always looking in but never daring to take a step in. She always scampered off whenever either he or Dante confronted her, but Vergil got the sense that she was looking for him and not Dante since she didn't exactly shy away completely whenever Dante met eyes with her.
The woman made no move to go, only looking at Vergil with a face full of uncertainty that he completely didn't understand. What was it exactly that she was looking for? Why couldn't she understand that they were trying to chase her away from her doorstep?
Vergil took a look at the comfortable set of clothes that the woman wore. There were little signs of dirt or scuffles. In fact, Vergil recognised the brand as something that was of a rather high-end brand. Looking at her more carefully than he had ever, he noted that he also recognised the brand of the watch that she wore on her wrist. It looked humble on the outlook, but Vergil's sharp eyes had caught sight of a logo that he recognised from high-end labels. Her shoes were also branded goods as well.
The girl was rich, but she somehow knew how to hide that fact.
"What are you looking for? At least let us settle whatever you want, then never come back again." Vergil changed his mind about chasing her away. Besides, he could always use a little more income so that he could supplement his diet with something more than Dante's pizzas, beer and strawberry sundaes. As half-demons, they couldn't exactly die from this diet, but Vergil was quickly becoming sick of the same food repeated endlessly.
Vergil's hopes for some form of a response came true, but the result wasn't exactly what he hoped. Instead of providing with any sort of hint or answer for why the woman had been doing the same thing almost every day since a month ago, she only shook her head vigorously from side to side, pressing her palms to cheeks that were steadily becoming red for some reason.
