[Sitting On The Shelf]

In the rather large, reinforced-walled storage room that held shelves upon shelves of small bottles lined up neatly and categorised perfectly, a thief dressed up in all black stood taking in the sights around him with a small gasp of wonder. This thief had just managed to get through a state-of-the-art security system after bribing the current security officer on shift, knocking out another security guard that had tried to stop the bribe, and cut a few wires to trip the alarm system.

It had been a James-Bond type of feel that had chased the theft throughout his journey, but now he stood in the middle of his destination, looking at the array of collection around him. Spells of all sorts stared at him. Spells that he had seen before, spells that he had heard of, spells that he had never known existed, and even spells that he didn't want to imagine how it could exist; they all sat lined up neatly around him, labelled simply and concisely.

It took him a long while to realise the reality that he was currently in the vault of the biggest storage of spells in the country, and he stood in the middle of products worth trillions of dollars. The spell industry was one of the biggest industry in the country given its extremely high demand and the ensuing supply that answered to the call of those demands. Everyone was now over-reliant on spells, and it thus now made sense that the best spell-caster in town was also the richest man in the area.

And this thief was in the vault of the richest of them all.

Knowing better than to waste more time gaping at the net worth of the spell around him, the thief took a chance and ran to the shelf nearest to him. Here, he scanned the labels and found a few commodities – spells for a cure for cold, for the fixing of a pipe, for the easing of a headache. These commodities were valued at low prices in the market, and thus the thief didn't bother to spare these bottles a second look.

Moving to the next shelf quickly, he paused for a moment to grab a few bottles labelled 'flight' just in case he might need it for aerial escape. Flight was also a rather well-paying product, and thus is was a win-win situation for him. Moving on, the thief grabbed a few more bottles from the next few shelves, being carefully selective since he did not dare to overload himself with the bottles' weight. He would make a lousy thief if he were to be dragged down by the weight of his greed, after all.

Thankful that he had done his homework studying the prices of most of the spells in the market prior to breaking in, the thief swept most of the high-paying, more-practical spells off the shelves. He was surprised to find his bag only half-full, twinkling with sounds as the glass bottles hit lightly against each other. Frowning a little as he shook his bag to make the sound again, the thief moved back to the shelf of commodity, this time taking a bottle off and uncapping it. The translucent liquid had no smell, but all the same the thief poured its content over the bag. Then, on last thoughts, he left a little and poured the remaining liquid on the floor before quickly stepping both his shoes over the liquid.

A small green glow that appeared both around his bag and the soles of his shoes told him that the spell was working just fine. Picking up his bag again, the thief shook his half-full bag, smiling to himself in satisfaction when he could no longer hear any sounds of twinkling. Grateful to himself for having considered something like this, he capped the now-empty bottle labelled 'soundless', and put it back on the shelf before moving back to where he had been previously, now with silent footsteps.

He was done sweeping the spells that he knew were of high value quickly, but now he reached a shelf where most of the spells were unknown to him. He spent some time pondering over the labels of the spells, wondering what it's effect could be, before deciding that it was probably for the best that he scooped a few of each to test out their effects and sell the rest. Besides, he had figured out the way that the spells were being categorised in the storage room, and he wagered that he was already at the high-end products.
