A/N: More cuteness incoming!

I know this is rare in many countries, but in Japan, because of the general safety, a child going out on his first errand by himself is a significant and memorable stepping stone in his life. A child's first errand usually happens when the child is 3, but it is entirely dependent on his/her ability to speak, exposure to the area, as well as confidence.

A first errand is considered as a child's first step to independence.

[The Adventures Of Chibi Vergil – 3]

All was innocently well in the household when Eva Sparda made an uncharacteristically loud exclamation in the kitchen, raising her voice to make sure that her 4 year old son could hear.

"Oh dear," Eva said with an inflection of worry in her tone that she made sure to exaggerate a little more than normal just to make sure that her son's ears would be perked. "I was about to make the boys' favourite chocolate cookies, but it seems like I've run out of flour and eggs! Whatever can I do?"

Her overly-dramatised speech made her feel a little embarrassed at herself, but it was not to vain since she quickly heard patters of feet slapping against tiled floor coming from the living room, which was also the boys' play area.

Usually the play area would be noisy with sounds of a particular boy making all sorts of noises while playing with his toys, but that particular boy was currently locked up in his room after being grounded for drawing all over the floor with his mother's lipstick earlier in the morning. This left the more obedient elder twin free to do anything and play on his own –allowing Eva to enjoy a rare morning's worth of silence since Dante had fallen asleep after crying, screaming and making a fuss out of being grounded.

"Mummy." Vergil called to get her attention, and Eva made sure to hang a partially surprised, partially anxious expression on her face when she turned to her young son. "Something wrong?"

"We ran out of flour and eggs, Little Vergil." Eva lied through her teeth since there was still one more box of eggs currently being hidden beside a half-pack of flour in the cupboard. "Your daddy is out at work, and I need to stay at home to make sure Dante doesn't make a fuss when he wakes up again. I wanted to make chocolate cookies to cheer you and Dante up, but it looks like we've run out of ingredients."

Eva quickly understood that one's acting skills didn't have to be of any proper standard in order to trick a 4 year old into believing a lie. Though the boys had been taught sternly by both her and her husband to never be liars, Eva prayed that Vergil would not be smart or observant enough to realize that she had been lying to set the entire plan in motion.

"Flour and egg? From store beside?" Vergil asked in his half-broken and short sentences. 4 year old speech was slowly becoming more and more understandable for Eva and her husband, but the worrying thing was that while it seemed like Vergil was developing his speech normally, Dante was lagging behind since the boy liked to blabber nonsensical sounds rather than actually try to use words.

"Yes. I have an idea, Little Vergil. Will you help Mummy to go to the nearby store by yourself to buy the ingredients?" Eva suggested with her best smile, watching the beautiful blue eyes glint while a premature brain took time to process the meaning of her words.

"By myself?" Vergil asked. "But Vergil have never go out without Mummy and Daddy and Dante."

"Yes, but this time is an emergency." Eva put her gentle hands on her little boy. "Will my Little Vergil become a brave boy and help poor Mummy buy flour and eggs so that I can make some cookies to reward you?"
