Chapter 17: Enough of this!

Chapter 17

Katniss P.O.V.

Even if our senior year didn't start as we thought it would. I think it starts to feel like we make up for it now.

Although I try to cheer Glimmer up. She has tried so much to make Cato like her. She says anyway. And she's really depressed. I can't say that she shouldn't be sad, because when I thought that Peeta was cheating on me, I almost started to cut myself. But I figured that nothing would be worth it, if I had to hurt myself over it.

I walk by the janitors scrub when I hear sobs.

I recognize those sobs. I know them as my cousins.

I open the door and see Glimmer sit on the floor.

I walk in and clos the door.

"Glimmer you gotta do something about this now", I say, sitting beside her. "And I mean now".

"I can't", she says. "He doesn't even like me, I would just make a fool of myself".

"Well, he turns you down, he's not worthy of you Glim", I say. "You're beautiful, you're amazing, you can be a little crazy, but that's what we all love about you, and you're a really good friend and an awesome cousin. If Cato doesn't realize what he misses, he's even stupider than I thought".

"You really think all of that?" She asks, looking at me.

"Absolutely", I say. "So come on, let's go seek him up".

Glimmer sniffs.

"Okay", she says. I take her hands and pulls her up in her feet.

"Thank you Katniss, I love you", she says and hugs me.

"You know I love you too", I say.

The door opens and the janitor comes in.

"What in...?! What are you two girls doing in here?" He asks. "You weren't ... Um ... The school is okay with relationships, just no funny business in school".

Wait this stupid old man, thinks that Glimmer and I are together?

"We were just talking", I say. "And FYI we're cousins".

And so we leave him blushing.

"What a dork", Glimmer laughs.

"Super dork", I agree laughing as well.

But soon Glimmers laugh dies out and I know that Cato must be here.

I look ahead and sees him making out with a fake blonde and plastic boob girl.

And there my temper goes. I can't take this anymore. And not just because of Glimmer, but because he's such a slut! Yeah no word could be better. I mean his one of my best friends in the whole world and I love him, but he's the biggest slut in Panem. And now I lost my temper with him.

I walk up to Cato and the girl. The adrenaline is flowing in my veins and I get strong enough to pull them apart.

"Katniss!" Cato says angry. "What are you doing?!"

"Go away you whore", I tell the girl who looks offended, but she doesn't say anything, she doesn't dare, I'm in the most popular group in this school. "You never touch Cato again, no matter how much he begs you, you hear?!"

"Katniss, what the fuck?" Cato shouts.

"You!" I say angry, pointing at him with an accusing finger. "You better stop slutting it up! Soon you won't have any dignity left! And yes, I know that you have had a hard life with your father leaving and you trying to take care of your mother, but come on! Coach Enobaria wouldn't have wanted you to act this way, and if she does find out, you know as good as I, if not even better than me, that she would be very disappointed with you!"

Cato just look at him. Trying to find something to say, but he doesn't, so he just stays quiet.

"So I suggest that you fucking open your damn eyes and see exactly what you have in front of you, instead of blowing it off!" I say. "If you just look close enough, you'll know what I mean, and if you do, you have a chance of being happy! I know that you aren't happy acting like this, you just wanna feel loved, but this isn't the way".

Cato still has nothing to say. He knows I'm right.

I look around and sees the rest of our group. How long have they been standing there.

I sigh.

"I'm sorry Cato, but you're one of my best friends, one of the most important people in my life", I say. "And I don't wanna see you throw away your life this way, it's just not fair to anyone or yourself, and I only want you to be happy", I look at the others and make a gesture with my hands. "We all do, and you know that".

Cato sighs.

"I do, I'm sorry Kat", he says.

I lean closer to him.

"You know that it's not me you should be apologizing to right?" I whisper, because I know that he knows who I'm referring to. He likes her too, he just hasn't admitted it yet.

He nods. And take a few steps towards the group, looking at Glimmer.

"I'm so sorry Glimmer", he says.

Glimmer looks angry.

"You stupid asshole", she says as she raise her hand to slap him.

But Cato catches her hand before she can slap him and pulls her close to him.

"I'm sorry", he says again.

"You fucking idiot!" Glimmer bursts before crashing her lips into Catos.

Peetas arms finds my waist and pulls me close to the body of my handsome boyfriend.

"Finally", he mutters with his face in my hair.

"You've got that right", I sigh.

I guess that it's just Marvel and Clove left, but that isn't as easy, because both of them are really good at hiding their feelings. So they are gonna be hard to fix together.

I'm taking Skeeter and Gale first, they may be easier to fix together.
