Chapter 26: What happened?

Chapter 26

Peeta's P.O.V.

I wake up by a loud banging.

Katniss jerks beside me.

"What's that?" She asks sleepy.

I sit up and Katniss sits up as well, clinging onto my arm.

The banging doesn't stop.

"I'm gonna go and see what it is", I say and stand up.

"No wait, I'll come with", Katniss says.

I turn and look at her.

She's only in her bra and panties. She's so beautiful, even at night like this.

She grabs my night shirt and pulls it over her. It look like an ugly dress on her because it's too big.

I take my night pants and slip them on and Katniss takes my hand.

I open the door and we walk out in the corridor.

When we reach the stairs I feel a hand on my shoulder.

I jerk and look back. Finnick and Annie.

"What's that banging?" Finnick asks.

"I don't know", I say.

We all walk down and walk up to the front door, where the banging is the loudest.

God, the person that's doing this is a sick man. Seriously! In the middle of the night and everything.

I unlock the door and look at the others.

Katniss grip tightens on my arm and I open the door.

Just when I open the door, the person falls straight in and face plants onto the floor.

Finnick and I bend down and rols the guy over.

"Gale?! What the hell man?!" I shout.

Gales eyes are red and rolls around as he tries to focus.

He smells strongly of alcohol.

What the hell?

"Gale what have you done?" Katniss asks angrily.

"It's the middle of the night!" Annie says.

He starts to cry.

What happened anyways? Gale doesn't even drink! I've never ever seen the guy drink and now he's so drunk he don't even know what time it is.

Finnick and I grab Gales hands and drag him up on his feet but his legs won't support him.

Finnick and I hold him up and leads him into the living room and pushes him down in the sofa.

We sit on opposite sides of him, while Annie and Katniss sits in front of us on the coffee table.

"Gale? What happened?" Finnick asks.

Gale roll his head from Finnick to me and his head falls down on my shoulder and he stars to cry again.

I look at Katniss ands she looks shocked.

Whatever happened to Gale, really broke him into pieces.

"Gale?" Katniss says carefully.

"She broke up with me!" Gale suddenly screams. "Skeeter broke up with me!"

Wait what?

That can't be right. Skeeter would never break up with Gale. She loves him so much.
