Chapter 43: Another surprise

Chapter 43:

Katniss P.O.V.

Peeta is talking to someone again. But this time I won't go and screw everything up by acting suspicious. I mean for one, trust is one of the most important thing in a relationship, and I really think that Peeta have proved a lot of times how much he loves me and wouldn't cheat on me.

Although I do want to know who he's speaking with. I feel really curious, I have to admit that.

I sit I'm the couch and Peeta comes back from the kitchen and sits down, with his hand landing on my thigh and rests there.

"Who was that?" I ask and put my Peeta's shoulder.

"Oh just no one, I thought it was my dad but it was someone who called the wrong number", Peeta says.

If he's lying, I can't tell if he is, because he's an excellent lier. Or excellent ... I just mean that he can keep his voice so natural and his face, he don't have to show emotions when he says something and can keep a straight face. But he might tell the truth... But is he?

Ugh I get a head ache about all of this. I decide to just trust Peeta on this and don't ask further.

"Oh... Okay", I say and just look on the TV.

"No Katniss please don't", Peeta says.

Huh? Oh maybe there was something in my voice. Ugh I can't help it, I just can't help it.

"What? I didn't say anything", I say innocent.

"How many times do I have to prove to my baby that I love her and only her?" Peeta asks and lifts me over to his lap.

"You have proved that a lot of time, I do believe you Peeta", I say and rest my forehead against his.

"Are you sure? Because it don't sound like it", Peeta says.

"I do, it's only, you behave weird when your phone rings", I admit. "But I believe you, I do, I do, I do".

"I do huh?" He asks and winks at me.

Oh. Haha yeah I wouldn't have anything against marrying Peeta. But he wouldn't want that.

I blush and burry my face into his shirt. Oh god how embarrassing.

Peeta chuckles and I raise as he's chest raise and lows.

"No but seriously babe, you have absolutely nothing to worry about", he says and then just hugs me tight, surrounding me with his warmth.

I hug him back, feeling the life in his body.

"I know", I say and really mean it when I say it. I think Peeta notice because he don't say against me or anything, he just hugs me tighter.

"And what's happening here if I may ask?"

I'm seriously going to kill Finnick. Everytime Peeta and I look or touch each other he says things like this.

"Shut up, you're really starting to get annoying", I say.

"No he passed annoying yesterday", Peeta says irritated.

Yeah right. He told Peeta and I that maybe we shouldn't share a room. He didn't give in until Annie threatened to not share a room with him if he didn't stop.

"Well excuse me for being a worried brother!" Finnick says fake hurt.

I just giggle and roll my eyes.

"Bye overprotective brother of mine, I can handle myself, and Peeta is no danger", I say.

Finnick shrugs.

"I know", he says.

"Then why are you doing this?" Peeta asks suspiciously.

"Fun", he says.

"Bye!" Peeta and I say at the same time.

Finnick laughs and walks up the stairs.

"I have a surprise for you m'lady", Peeta says and buries his face into my hair.

I groan. Ugh I hate surprises.

"Peeetaaaa", I groan.

"What was that?" I hear Finnick call from the second floor.

"Nothing brother dear, stop eavesdropping!" I shout.

"Fineeee!" Finnick calls and I hear Annie drag him away.

"I hate surprises", I say.

"I know, but you better get used to them, because you're gonna get alooooot", Peeta says slyly.

I sigh.

Peeta sands up with me still in his arms. He walks to the door and walks out.

He don't walk to the car but walks towards road. We walk by the roda a long time and my legs starts to hurt. 

"I don't wanna walk anymore", I say and suddenly stops walking.

"We're soon there baby", Peeta says.

But he carries me upp bridal style and starts walking with me in his arms. I gotta say that I like it actually. It's cozy and I always like it when Peeta carries me, it's fun.

After about three minutes he stops though. In front of a big house.

"Do you remember when I got that phone call and we got into thet fight afterwards?" Peeta asks.

I humpf. Like i could ever forget how stupid I was to start up that fight. I'm still angry at myself for it.

"Yeah well the person I was talking to was your grandmother", he says. "We were planning this".

"My grandmother?" I ask. "Planning what?"

Right than the door opens and my grandparents walks out with big smiles on there faces.

"Gradma!" I shout and Peeta lets me down on the ground. "Grandpa!" 

I run up tp hug them and they wrap their arms around me.

"We've missed you so much", grandpa says. 

"I've missed you too", I say. "But what are you doing here?"

"We've moved back to our family house", grandma says.

I look at Peeta who stands there with the biggest smile on his face.

"Surprise!" He says.

I walk up to him and wrap my arms around his waist.

"Goofball", I say.

He kisses me. He won't ever stop to amaze me.
