Chapter 15: Really Gale?!

Chapter 15

Peeta's P.O.V.

I'm so happy that Katniss and Skeeter talked to each other. I really am. Now they're friends again.

But Skeeter doesn't want to tell anyone else.

Right now I'm on my way to class with Gale.

I think he's planning something, because he's being suspiciously quiet.

"Man what's wrong with you?" I ask him.

He gives me a cold look and I raise my eyebrows.

"How can you fool around with Skeeter when you're together with Katniss?" He asks hard.

Oh god.

He hasn't gotten over this yet. He totally scold me two days ago about this. But Katniss stepped in before we started to fight for real.

"I didn't! God man Katniss even told you that I didn't, when are you getting over this?!" I ask him.

He sighs.

"Sorry dude", he says.

"It's okay but what's up with you?" I ask.

"I kind of... Don't tell anyone, and if you do, I swear your dead meat!" He says.

"I won't", I say. "Now spill".

"I like Skeeter", he says and gets red in his face.

I raise my eyebrows.

"So tell her", I say.

"Are you crazy?! I can't do that!" Gale says.

"So what are you gonna do?" I ask. "Want some help?"

Gale laughs.

"No thanks bread boy, I can handle this", he says.

I'm not so sure.

Katniss and Skeeter comes walking towards the same direction as us.

"Hey girls", I say.

"Hey!" They say.

Our class is chemistry. Katniss is my partner and Gale got Skeeter. I'm starting to feel sorry for him. I mean I didn't when he first got her, but he has made a big fool out of himself. And now that I know that he in fact likes her, makes me feel a bit sorry for him, and embarrassed about his behavior around Skeeter.

Gale walks straight into a pole.

"Oh god, are you okay?" Skeeter asks.

"Well I see pretty stars, but a kiss would make it better", he says.

Skeeter frowns and walks away toward the classroom with Katniss.

"'A kiss would make it better?'" I say as I slap his head. "Dude seriously?"

He turns around and faces me.

"Please help", he says in a begging voice.

I just nods as I pat his back.
