Chapter 3: Jealousy

Chapter 3

Katniss P.O.V.

The minute we put our foots inside the school, we become surrounded by crazy girls.

"Peeta Mellark!"

"I think I'm gonna throw up".

"Omg he's even hotter than I remember".

"I think I'm gonna die!"

"Than do!" I shout.

They look at me. And I realize that it was Delly who said it. She and her best friend Madge are standing right in front of Peeta. Delly is giving him looks I don't like.

"Sorry! But we do need to get to our lockers!" I say.

"Than go to your locker and leave Peeta hear with us", Delly says and starts making seductive circles on Peeta chest, and it hurts in my stomach.

I don't say anything. I just hook my arm around Annie's, dragging her with me to the principals office, leaving Finnick and Peeta behind.

"You okay?" Annie asks, worried.

I shrug. I'm really not okay. This really makes me sick to my stomach. All the girls clinging onto Peeta, that they fall at his feet or scream or faint when he walks by.

The only thing I can think of, is the fact that this is going to be really hard, even if everyone found out about me and Peeta. They wouldn't leave him alone just because I'm his girlfriend.

"Dunno", I mumble.

Annie needs to get her locker and home room class. All of us in the group are in the same home room. And there we get our schedules. I hope Annie is in ours. Last year almost no one in our group had one class together besides home room, I hope it becomes better this year, I mean it's after all our Senior Year.

"Katniss, you always do this, keeping your feelings inside of you", Annie says low. "It's not good to do that, you need to start open up".

"I never have, and you know that", I say as we arrive at the door, that leads to the principals reception.

I open the door and we end up in a waiting room, with a receptionist. I can see the principal. It's only glass walls and a glass door between the office and the waiting room.

"Hello darlings, what can I do for you?" The receptionist Ms Octavia asks.

Oh I hate it when she calls us darlings. She always have.

"Annie here is new and was going to talk to Principal Snow, he told her to come early, so here we are", I say.

And with that I mean that Annie got a letter from Principal Snow, the last week before school.

"Go ahead darling", Ms Octavia says to Annie, pointing at the door.

I stands still at the spot I'm standing at right now.

The door opens and I see my girls enter the waiting room. Glimmer, Clove and Johanna.

"Katniss!" Clove shouts in a high pitched voice, runs up to me and embraces me in a big, tight hug.

"Hey Clove!" I say.

Clove releases me and smiles and I return the smile only half hearted, because honestly, I'm not in a very good mood right know.

"Hello brainless, interesting summer?" Johanna asks, and smiles devilish at me.

This is what she do. She always smiles devilish, she has nicknames like this for all of us in the group, and she's not much of a hugger either.
