Chapter 20: The plane

Chapter 20

Katniss P.O.V.

We're sitting on the plain on the way to Atlanta.

Plutarch insisted on buying us first class tickets. So here we are, in first class. I really don't feel like I belong here, but I'm stuck because Plutarch is who he is, and he's trying to suck up to me. I actully like him, but not my mom so much, after I found out how much she lied to me.

I'm resting my head on Peetas shoulder and yawn.

"You tired baby?" He asks.

"Yeah and I'm cold", I say and start to shudder.

Peeta wraps his arms around me, and I feel the warmth spread throughout my body. I snuggle deeper into his embrace.

"Katniss are you tired?" Prim asks.

She's sitting in the chairs in front of me and Peeta with Annie and Finnick. Prim is crazy about Annie, every chance she gets to spend time with Annie she takes it. But that isn't a problem for me, that only means that Peeta and I get some time alone. Or well not alone, alone, but I get to snuggle with Peeta.

Now Prim stand on her knees and leans over her backrest, looking at me and Peeta.

"Yeah, I'm tired", I yawn.

"Sleep Kitty", Finnick says.

At first I didn't really like it when Finnick called me Kitty. But now I don't mind it. Whenever he talks to me, he sounds to much like a brother and caring, I don't care about his nickname.

"Yeah maybe", I say.

They sit down again and I feel Peetas eyes on me. I look up at him and I was right. He's looking at me, like he never wants to take his eyes away from me.

"What?" I whisper low.

"You're just so beautiful, I can't take my eyes off you", he says.

I blush. Why does he always make me blush? Whatever he says, makes me blush. Only Peeta can make me blush this way, no one else has that effect on me. Peeta is the only one. He's my only one.

I bury my face in his chest and he chuckles. I guess that he saw my face getting red.

I take up my wallet.

"You know I were in mom and Plutarch house the other day", I say slowly, looking up at him.

"Yeah?" He says suspiciously.

"Well, I thought that because I was there, I went up to the attic, and found some really old boxes, like way before dad died, I found an old album, and this photo was in it", I explain and take up a worn photo from my wallet and show it to Peeta.

"Oh my god!" He says and smiles really big.

"What?" Finnick peeks over to us again.

Peeta shows him the picture and an devilish grin spreads across his face.

"Well I guess that it was meant to be from the very beginning", he says teasingly.

On the picture I look straight into the camera and the one taking the picture, while Peeta gives me a big kiss on my chubby cheek.

"I guess we were like four or five on that one", Peeta says and I blush again.

"You were so cute!" Prim exclaims.

"Everyone on the plain doesn't need to know that Primmy", Annie says, as she senses my discomfort.

Prim stats to giggle and falls down in her chair, shaking.

I snap the picture back and puts it back in my wallet and put my wallet in my bag.

I put my head back on Peetas chest and he wraps one arm around me and strokes my hair with another.

I yawn big and feel how the darkness fills my body and my eyes feel really heavy. It's matter of seconds before I fall asleep.

"Katniss! Katniss baby, wake up, we've landed".

I slowly open my eyes as I feel someone shake me gently.

When I open my eyes I look into a pair of clear ocean blue eyes, that belongs to my Peeta.

"Huh?" I ask groggy.

Peeta chuckles.

"We're here", he says. "Baby are you really that tired?"

I rub my eyes with my hands and nods as I yawn big.

Peeta smiles at me.

"Want me to carry you babe?" He asks, and I nod.

Peeta takes my hand bag and carries me up.

"Where's Prim, Finn and Annie?" I ask.

"At the gate I think, I've tried to wake you up for like five minutes", Peeta says and starts to walk toward the door.

"Wow", I say. "You should've left me here".

"Never", Peeta says and a laughs.

I laugh as Peeta walks us out of tell plane.
