Hayley was in a deep slumber while I stayed awake trying to deal with our problems.

"Niklaus! Do you have any idea what danger you put the mother of your child in today? She could have drowned!" Ah yes, the noble Elijah always here to reprimand my acts of heroism. I laugh at the fact that it was I who got the Little Wolf breathing again. Hayley and I have never had much of a relationship rather than a mutual understanding but I stilled cared for her. Despite everything I put her through she never left and she was there for me when Camille died.

"You may think you know the Little Wolf, Elijah but I can assure you, you do not. She is a fighter not like your other lovers who were weak and easily broken," I suddenly felt protective over her. As if she was mine. This Elijah knew nothing about Hayley and I felt responibale for her, as if she and I were from a different timeline and this Eljah could not protect her the way I could.

"Lover? Niklaus what has gotten into you? First, you come up with these ludicrous stories about the future and now you have come up with some love affair between me and the mother of your child."
Elijah looked at me as if I had lost my mind. But I could see the truth in his eyes, he was afraid. Hayley had just had an attack in front of his eyes and it was sure as hell not for nothing.

"Hayley's sleeping," Rebekah leaned against the door, she looked tired. "I think you should go talk to her," she said not being specific as to who the 'you' in her sentence was directed to. Elijah stepped forward assuming she meant him, for a moment I thought she meant him too, until she said, "I meant Klaus. Klaus should go talk to her."

"Klaus?" Elijah was shocked, as was I.

"Whatever is bothering her, I'm guessing it has to do with that nightmare you both had," she says. Elijah turned tense, I don't know how far his relationship with Hayley has progressed at this point in time but he does seem to care about her. I tried to think back to what happened last in this time line, what was I doing before I went to bed? Then I realized that eariler today Elijah had killed the witch that tried to kill Hayley. The last elder. "Shit," I cursed under my breath. One the bright side, Hayley was no longer linked to the witches. I could get her out.

Her wild locks shattered on the pillow her head was buried in. She looked so peaceful. I sat on the bed next to her, the mattress sunk under my weight. I took Hayley's hand in mine and transported us into a world of my creating.

When I opened my eyes I was in Hopes room and my beautiful girl lay curled up in her crib. I moved towards her but I was to late, Hayley ran to the crib stopping centimetres away. Much like the first time she saw Hope again. She reached down and pulled our child into her arms, like she was the most precious thing on Earth. And that she was. My heart hurt knowing that this was only figments of my imagination. Tears rolled down Hayley's cheek, she didn't fight them. She walked towards me and dropped Hope in my arms. I held the child tightly, rocking her.
"What are we going to do?" Hayley asked.
"Well there must be a reason we saw those visions, why only us?" She took Hope from me and took a seat on the rocking chair. She rocked the sleeping child.
"Klaus," Hayley looked at me with big eyes and from the way she said my name I knew. She was going to ask my to make a hard decision.
"I want to get Hope out of here," she told me firmly.
"Of course, love."
"And I think we should go alone," she added. Hayley looked at the sleeping child to guilty to make eye contact with me.
"Are you asking me to choose between Hope and my family?" I asked angrily. If she was planning on running away with Hope again, there will be war.
"No! I love Elijah and Rebekah. I just think that we should leave for a while, let them clean up the mess and then join us."
"But it's our mess, Hayley!"
"Yes and she is our child, Klaus!" She put Hope back in her crib, scaring me. I knew a fight was brewing.
"I am not going to give her away this time! And dammit Klaus, you missed her first words!" Tears started forming in her eyes.
"All she ever talks about is you, did you know that?" Her voice turned into a whisper. Her words brought an unbearable pain to my heart, thinking of Hope longing for me.
"Your right," I sighed.
"Partners, for Hope." I extend my hand for her to shake.
"Partners, for Hope." She shook it and smiled at me, her eyes filled with light again.
