"What is the matter with you?"
Rebekah walked into the room, disrupting my reading. I rolled my eyes.
"What is it now sister?"
"Why don't you want to marry Hayley?"
"Because, Rebekah... its complicated."
"Then uncomplicate it, Klaus!"
She rolled her arms over her chest.
I placed my book on the coffee table, knowing she will not let me read in peace until she gets answers.
"I don't want her to marry me knowing she is forced too!"
"Is that what this is about, your ego?"
I grumbled. "You won't understand."
"Klaus, I know you care for her. And I know me telling you this will break Elijah's heart but, this is for your daughter. You always wanted a happy home, this is your chance. Why aren't you taking it?"
I remember Hayley, living with Jackson. At the time, I wanted to be him. He had my family!
"What about Elijah? He loves her."
"You're right. Klaus, what are you going to do?"
She took a seat beside me. Marrying Hayley, if Elijah found out he would be devastated. He is always so noble. Sometimes I feel like it would have been best if he didn't remember at all, remember that I too loved her, perhaps I still do.
Rebekah, seeing the distress in my eyes, placed a hand on my arm.
"Don't worry, Nik. Everything will work out for the best," she gave me a gentle smile. "She will always be yours, she's the mother of your child."
"You and I both know the Little Wolf doesn't belong to anyone but herself," I smirked.
