Hayley was missing and that was the only think that kept racing through my mind ever since I got the call from Stephan. Elena was okay, Hayley made sure of that.
"How could you let this happen?" I asked, chocking Stephan. I had him pinned against the wall, applying pressure, cutting his airflow.
"Kl-Klaus," he chocked. "I'm sorry."
"Niklaus," Elijah boomed. I released Stephan and turned to face my brother.
"It didn't work, our plan didn't work," tears burned in my eyes. "And now Esther has Hayley," I chocked.
"We will get her back, I promise," Elijah placed a hand on my shoulder. Comforting me.
I had to get her back.
I examined Stephan's room, the place she was taken. The table was angled towards the door, the Little Wolf must have pushed it against the door. I could picture her here, her fearless eyes.
She is a saviour.
"Klaus!" Caroline screamed, I raced to her.
"What is it?"
The skin on her arm began to burn, forming letters as she screamed.
Meet me at the school, alone.
-Ester
"Don't tell anyone about this," I whispered to Caroline.

The school was deserted, the icy wind brought a shiver down my spine as I stomached the thought of the conditions Ester kept Hayley in. The scene seems awfully familiar.
I caught Hayley's scent immediately, following it to the history classroom. Inside, Hayley sat, tied to the chair. The ropes were laced with Wolves bane, I could smell it.
"Finally," Ester sighed.
"Let her go!" I screamed.
"Now why would I do that son? She is the best leverage I could possibly imagine. Having both you and Elijah's heart in her hand. Rebekah loves her like a sister and she carries my grandchild. A child that you will all fight for until you die."
I broke, tears forming in my eyes. "Mom, please, let her go. If you ever loved me, if you ever loved any of us. I will do anything," I looked at the Little Wolf. Eyes closed, she looked almost like she was sleeping.
With the click of her fingers, the ropes around Hayley untied themselves.
"I wasn't going to hurt her," Ester said.
I rushed to the Little Wolf, making sure she was okay. I cradled her in my arms.
"Klaus," she whispered before returning to her unconscious state.
She was okay, that's all that matters.
"I want the end of the vampire species, you want that girl safe. I believe we can strike a deal."
I looked at the woman I once called my mother and wondered how she could ever threaten her own grandchild. She was the real monster. However, if it meant keeping Hayley save, I would do anything, I would even let my walls down. I would beg for her life if I had to.
"Done."
