Thirteen: Elena

So in this story Damon is dating Bonnie and Stefan is dating Elena. Damon never loved Elena in a romantic way. I'm sorry to disappoint anyone who may ship Delena

Klaus stood in front of the werewolf girl protectively, I knew he was incapable of love but the way he clang onto her made me wonder. She was strong and beautiful. I kept my fingers interlocked with Stefan's, feeling slightly jealous at the way Hayley tried to sneak peeks at him.
"What is she doing here?" Caroline spat.
"She's pregnant," Stefan whispered in my ears.
"What?"
"It's complicated," Klaus answered Caroline at the same time.
"She's pregnant?" I asked Klaus, loud even for everyone to hear.
"Yes, she is."
"What exactly do you want me to do?" Bonnie asked, changing the subject.
"Uh, yes! I need you to bring my mother back."
"What? I thought you hated your mother?"
"I do but if I have to bring her back to keep Hayley safe so be it."
"And why do you care if she is safe or not?" Caroline's voice was rough and mean. She sounded almost jealous. Silence fell upon the room.
"You know what, I am just going to make this easy and kill her," Damon said and had his hand around Hayley's throat in the blink of an eye. Stefan and I stood from out seats but Klaus was the first to react. He pulled Damon off Hayley, then tightened his hand around his neck.
"SHE'S MINE!" Klaus's scream pieced the air, so loud it rang in my ears. Hayley still recovering from her lack of air took deep breaths beside him, one hand around her neck the other on her belly.
"Damon, I want to hear him out," Bonnie said, then added to Klaus. "Let him go or I am not doing a damn thing for you."
"On the contrary love, I see a room full of people you love."
"Klaus,"Hayley nodded and he let Damon go, I felt Stefan relax besides me. He mouthed a thank you to Hayley.
"Why do you care so much about her, Klaus?" Caroline asked angrily. I knew she had feeling for him.
"She is pregnant with my child."
The room flooded with questions, each of us screaming our own.
"It's impossible!" We said, however, it would explain his protectiveness over her.
"Sit down everyone, for I am going to tell you a story," he told us.
Klaus's story was extraordinary, I didn't know what to believe. The wolf was indeed pregnant but the rest I was not so sure about,  somehow, it made sense, his protectiveness over the girl.
"Wait, so she's pregnant with your child? And now you need your mother's blood to defeat your evil aunt that is coming after the child, that has not been born yet and you know this because you had a dream?" When I put it that way, Klaus sounded crazy.
"Yes."
"I'll help you Klaus because if I don't, Damon will die." Bonnie said.
