I had never seen Klaus so vulnerable, I could hardly recognize the Klaus that we once shivered for at that whisper of his name. This New Klaus, was scared, and lost, and alone.
I watched Klaus's face twist in horror as I stared at Hayley's bare chest. His very own chest tremors  with rage.
"How do we fix it?" he asked between his teeth, his fits remained clenched. His eyes were fixed on the girl.
"Bonnie can do a spell, but Klaus, I'm not letting her anywhere near this. If you want her to do the spell, you need to bring Hayley there," my voice was gentle.
"YOU WILL DO AS I COMMAND!" He screamed, waking Hayley with a jolt.
"Klaus?" She looked so much like her old self, rubbing her eyes.
"Hayley, Love, go back to sleep."
"Why is he here?" She almost spat the words.
"He just came to visit," Klaus assured her.
"Where is Hope?" She asked, her gaze turning into something not quite her.
"You know you can't see her," Klaus said. He looked sad in a way I thought I would never see.
That's when it happened, Hayley began to scream. As if she were in pain, as if her skin were being burned. She tore at her chest, as the evil lines turned a burning red colour.
Klaus, panic-struck, ran towards her. Hoping to ease her pain. The moment his hand fell upon her chest, it burned him.
"Ah," he shrieked, pulling his fingers back.
Hayley continued to scream, pulling at her clothes and I watched Klaus. I couldn't tear my eyes away. He was in agony, as if he himself, were burning.
"Elijah!" He screamed, trying to contain Hayley, despite the burn that seemed to have travelled through her body.
Elijah burst into the room, trying to comprehend the scene before him.
"She's burning," I yelled.
Then, suddenly, it stopped.
The room fell into a deadly silence. Klaus still cradled Hayley in his arms. She didn't seem to be in pain. She looked like a child, fast asleep, so tiny in his arms.
"Get the truck," Klaus whispered to Elijah. His eyes fixed on Hayley, "We are going to Mystic Falls."
