It has been three days since Hayley had gone missing and each second feels like an eternity.
Hope cries a lot, feeling the absence of her mother. I try to comfort my baby girl but there is very little I can do for my own heart feels like it has been ripped out of my chest.
Rebekah and Elijah spend their days scattering the city, in hopes of finding her.
I find comfort in the thought.
But, I know better than to trust my siblings with her life.
Each second she is gone, I feel my old self resurfacing. The Klaus that would get her back, even if he had to make the city rain in blood. I was mere moments from turning into him, when Marcel came waking in.
"There's been werewolf sightings all over the city," he said, matter-a-factly.
"Does it look like I am concerned about... werewolves, Marcellus?" My voice was poison, laced with the liquor I drowned myself in.
"No, but they have been whispers. The Queen has returned, ready to take her rightful place."
My mind wondered. I always assumed Dahlia has taken Hayley. She was, after all, a great bargaining chip. However, what if it was the last place we would look.
Perhaps, she was with her own kind.
"Klaus, I think Hayley might be in the Bayou," Marcel said, his eyes clear and determined.
"What makes you think that?"
"The wolves, they were bragging. She is going to complete the marriage ritual, she is going to free the wolves."
His words were punches to my stomach.
"That's not possible," I whispered to myself.
"It isn't? She loves her people. She is their Queen, and being Queen comes with many sacrifices."
"No," I whispered, Marcel's words drowning. My mind racing. "Nooo!" I screamed.
Hayley was going to marry Jackson, did she still love him?
Within an hour, I was drenching through the Bayou, a sibling on either side.
"She wouldn't, Hayley loves you," Rebekah said, careful with her words. She didn't want to start another fight between Elijah and I. However, at this point, we seemed to have a common enemy. One that I was not sure I could face. Hayley? Her pack? Were they the enemy?
I promised myself I would never hurt her again. What if she tried to take my home? What if she chose Jackson?
The questions never seemed to end until I stood in front of the cabin, where the Little Wolf once lived in. I sensed her presence before she emerged from the house. At the sight of her, my breathing evened. She was okay, she was beautiful.
The moonlight danced upon her hair, her face half covered in darkness. A Queen indeed.
However, her eyes. Something was wrong with her eyes. The usual hazel had turned into an almost green colour.
"What do you want Klaus?"
Her voice  was cold. Something was wrong.
"What are you doing here?" Elijah asked.
I was unable to comprehend the situation. She seemed like Hayley, however, she wasn't. Something was off. Perhaps it was her tone.
"We came to bring you home," Rebekah tried, taking a step closer.
"I am home," Hayley said, holding her head higher.
"Hope has been missing you," Rebekah's voice was gentle.
"She'll survive. I managed without a mother perfectly fine."
Her words boiled my blood, but at that moment I knew. That was not Hayley.
