"No way!" Klaus boomed.
"I have to be there, Klaus!"
We have been at it for an hour, arguing. He refused to let me attend the ball, hosted in this house.
"You will stay will Stephan and that is final."
I shook my head, vigorously. "Do not manage me Klaus!"
"Hayley," he calmed down, placing his hand on my arm. A shiver shot up it. "I need you safe."
His eyes melted in mine.
"No, Klaus. I need to be there, in the case of an emergency, they need my blood and... and Klaus, I need to keep you safe."
"You need to keep Hope safe," he whispered, his hand caressed my face.
"You're right," I closed my eyes, leaning into his touch.
"Good, then its settled. Stephan will babysit."Klaus dropped my off at the Salvatore boarding house an hour before the ball began. He wore a suit. Elena and Stephan greeted me with loving arms. Must be hard to love a human, I thought. The last time I saw Stephan, he was in love with Caroline, I wonder what happened in this timeline that could change their pure love. I wonder if me being here could save it. Perhaps, Elena dies.
I shoved my thoughts to the side as Klaus opened the car door. I wrapped my jersey closer around my body.
"Are you okay love?" Klaus asked, feeling my nerves.
Stephan led us in, hot chocolate stood on the table opposite the lit fire. The room was warm. Elena sat on the couch, wrapped in a blanket.
"Would you like something to eat?" She asked.
"I'm okay," I shook my head. Elena patted the seat next to her, I sat beside her and she covered me with the blanket. Wrapping her arms around me to keep me warm.
"Make sure she's save. I'm leaving my life in your hands, old friend." Klaus said, before he gave me a kiss and disappeared.
"Did Klaus just...?" Elena started, I blushed.
Stephan said, "Yip. I think he just did."Stephan rarely disturbed our girl talk, Elena was a perfect host. She had a way of making me feel completely comfortable.
"Do you have any name options?" She asked. It has been an hour since Klaus left, and the unsettling feeling in my stomach has began to disappear.
"Hope, her name is Hope."
I found comfort in taking about my baby girl.
"That's a beautiful name," she smiled.
The door flew open, crashing across the room in one sudden second. Three things happened at once, Elena screamed, Stephan came running and Ester entered snapping Stephan's neck with the click of her fingers.
"Run!" I screamed at Elena. I grabbed a piece of thick wood that had broken from the door, gripping it.
My mind raced, she wanted me. She would follow me. I had to lead her away from Elena. I ran in the opposite direction.
Up the stairs and into Stephan's room. I locked the door and pushed his desk against it.
"Hayley," Ester sang, "I know you're in there." The door began to unlock and slowly, the desk started moving away from it. I panicked, trying to push it back against the door. Her magic was too strong.
"Hayley, I won't hurt you. You carry my grandchild. She, unlike my children, is an innocent and not a plague to this world."
I contemplated jumping from the balcony, only I wasn't sure Hope would survive the fall.
The door opened and I stood face to face with my child's psychotic, grandmother.
