Chapter 13: Talking to My Dad

~ The Next Morning ~

I woke up around ten the next morning. 

I yawned as I saw the sunlight shining through the hotel room curtain. After realizing Emily was still asleep, I was on my phone for awhile. Checking out social media and playing a game to fully wake up my brain. Overall...everything seemed to be great last night. Zak, Nick, Aaron, Emily, and I were all laughing and joking around with each other. Em and I haven't sad anything to any of the guys about me being pregnant yet. I won't lie saying that I was honestly too nervous to even try and tell Zak. Zak and I seemed to be great like holding hands, kissing, that type of thing. It worries me how things will be, since we have to leave soon though. 

Since everyone else was still sleeping, I decided to get dressed and have a walk around the area near the hotel. Since Emily and I walked around yesterday, it was actually peaceful so why not take a nice walk. Once I did get outside the building, I remembered that I haven't even heard from my mom, dad, Amy and David in about two weeks now. I think I might call my dad...since they never called me to check up on everything. Also, to let him and the others know that Emily and I will be coming back home tomorrow.

I dialed his number and he answered within a couple rings.

"Hello?" "Hey daddy it's me." "Hey sweetheart! What's up?" "Nothing much at the moment. I haven't heard from you so I just decided to call you. I miss you, mom, David, and Amy. Also to tell you that Em and I will be coming back home tomorrow. " "Oh okay good sweetie. We miss you too trust me, your mom was actually just telling me last night that she was wondering how things were going for you. I think you should know that your Aunt Tara called your mom yesterday and her cancer is really bad at the moment hun. She's in the hospital now and she wants your mom, me, your sister and brother to come and see her. Your mom told Aunt Tara about where you are now and your mom wanted you to try and come also. But your Aunt said it was alright that you can't come. She was really happy for you and Emily and is glad your spending time with handsome me. She wanted me to tell you that."

My Aunt Tara is my mother's older sister. 

A few months ago, she found out that she has breast cancer. She was doing alright at first it wasn't so serious but now it seems to be getting worse. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia so it's a little far from us but she always tried to visit whenever possible. "I'm so sorry Daddy, especially that I'm not there. I do miss her a lot too. I hope to God her cancer doesn't spread even more." "No, don't be sorry honey it's alright. She's a tough woman and a fighter just like your mom...I think for the meantime she'll be okay. So how are you and Emily's two weeks going?" 

"Oh my gosh dad...it has been just amazing! We have all got so close within these two weeks. Like brother and sister type thing. They are all great wonderful guys to be around with Daddy." "That's wonderful honey! I'm so glad you and Emily are having a great time there. Were you nervous to meet Zak in person since you have a big crush on him?" "Honestly, yeah I really was but Em told me not to worry about being nervous and to just enjoy myself. Also, Zak kept staring at me when we were first meeting too."

"Hmmm...I bet Zak has an attraction for you honey or already does which wouldn't surprise me. You definitely get some of your good looks from your mom and not me." He chuckled which made me laugh as well. Like they say...fathers' know best! "Yeah dad, Nick and Aaron thought the same thing too but it took Zak awhile to realize it himself. Zak and I got alone time and we both admitted having feelings for one another. So....we ended up kissing after that." "Well I don't know what to say to that but good for you. It seems like your dream is coming true." 

Yes I am that open to my dad about things like this...it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out my huge celebrity crush on Zak. "It gets better Daddy." "What could be better than that sweetie?" We both ended up chuckling at the same time as I said, "Well....for now Zak and I are dating." "Are you guys both happy?" "Yes we are Daddy...I mean it seems like he is and I know that I am." "Then that's all that matters. If you both have some type of love or affection each other and you both are happy----there isn't anything better. Besides, you needed to have a boyfriend sooner or later baby." "Yeah I know that much Daddy. A lot of men my age are just a hot mess and all want sex and not a relationship." 

"Well I guess you got a point there baby. And also don't forget that if Zak hurts you, and I find out about it, he'll be in trouble because no one messes with my baby girl." I giggled and said, "I haven't forgotten that at all Daddy and yup I will always be your baby girl." "You sure will honey, forever and always as my eldest daughter." See, my dad and I are really close still, in case you can't tell already. We can talk about anything and everything. I mean he is protective like any other parent in the world. Whenever he calls me baby girl around people though, he tells them that no matter how old I am, I will always be his baby girl. Which is true...I really admire having such a close relationship with my close family a lot.

"Well honey....your mom, your brother, your sister, and I will be leaving later today to see your Aunt. Since she does live in Atlanta, your mom has decided to stay in the area for a few days. So we won't be home when you and Emily come back. I'm sorry about that honey." "Don't be dad it's fine. I completely understand, no worries." "Your mom will be leaving a note for you also." "Okay dad...I'll try and remember to look for it." "Good...well let me get going so we can finish packing, eat something, and everything else. I love you Sweetie and I'll see you when we come back home." "I love you too Daddy. Tell mom that I love her. Also, Amy and David too." "I will, don't worry. Bye baby girl." "Bye Daddy."

I hang up and smiled to myself. 

I couldn't feel anymore happy knowing that my dad approved of me and Zak dating. 

I mean I don't know why he wouldn't, but maybe it's because of my parents being protective some and wanting me to be happy. But I do know that he wasn't kidding about hurting Zak if Zak hurts me. I mean I love and care for Zak, Nick, and Aaron equally, whether I'm a huge fan of the show or not. I highly doubt Zak would really try and hurt me deeply...I mean he wouldn't right?! I just hope and pray that doesn't come true....but I have a deep feeling that I'm about to have some tough battles ahead of me no matter what.
