Chapter 27: Family Night

While we're waiting for dinner to arrive, I was happily sitting on the couch with Zak.

I had just remembered that I didn't show my parents and siblings Bella. I looked towards him, "Hey Zak, would you mind getting Bella for me so I can show her to everyone. Please?" "Sure sweetie, I'll be right back with her." We smiled at each other as he got up and kissed my forehead. "Thanks love," I yelled as he walked away.

A couple minutes later, Zak was back with Bella, holding her like a baby. I got up and went to him as she did a cute meow. Zak and I looked at each other and awed. I took her in my arms as she licked me and Zak's hand. It didn't take her long to learn that we were her mommy and daddy. She's such a sweet cat and I'm so glad Zak got her for me. I smiled as I looked at my family, "Mom, dad, Amy, David...Zak got this Tabby kitten for me as a gift. He adopted it and her name is Bella."

Mom came up and grabbed her from my arms as Bella cuddled against her. Dad, Amy, and David started to pet her...I believe they really like her. I think Bella is really loves all the attention that she's getting. After all, Zak and I will end up spoiling her to death. When that was over, I took her back into my bedroom with me. Then, I fed her and gave her some water in the bathroom. While she was eating and drinking, I cleaned out her litter box and washed my hands.

I went into my room and looked around.

I saw my Aerosmith and Ghost Adventures posters above my bed. Then, a few more posters and pictures hanging on the walls around my room. On my dresser was a picture of Me, Emily, and Jake when we went to prom together. I took the silver picture frame and held it in my hand as I sat on my bed. I whispered as I started to tear up, "I miss you so much Jake..." Just then, Mom walked in and sat on the bed beside me.

She wiped my tears away comfortingly, "Don't cry honey. I know you and Emily miss him a lot. I can see it on your faces." I didn't say anything as I just looked away. She took the picture frame out of my hand and sat it on the other side of the bed. "Before we came here...we stopped by Mrs. Lovegood's house and talked to her for awhile." "How is she doing Mom?" "She's still upset and devastated of course...but she's holding up okay. She's a strong lady if anything...and she knows we're all here for her if she needs anything. She also told me and your dad that Jake left something for you and Emily...here honey."

She opened up her hand and handed it to me.

I squeezed my hand and whispered, "Jake's two favorite dog tag necklaces.....He wouldn't go anywhere without wearing them." "I was told  from her that you have one and Emily takes the other." I put the necklace on and smiled as Mom smiled back at me. I hugged her and smiled, "I love you mom." She hugged me back and responded, "I love you too sweetie." After a couple minutes, Mom and I let go as she said honestly, "I'm really proud of you baby and I'm glad you've found your happiness. Your father and I think that Zak really is the one for you."

I couldn't help but to smile, "Thanks mom...that means a lot to me."

She smiled back as we both got up, "Now let's go downstairs and join the others before dinner gets here." I nodded my head in response and walked out with her. In the hallway, I bumped into Em. Mom said as she walked away, "I'll let you two talk." Em asked, "What's wrong and is that Jake's dog tag necklace around your neck?" "I'm alright now and yes it's his necklace. Mom stopped by Mrs. Lovegood's house before they came here and Jake left his two dog tag necklaces for us...you have one and I have the other."

I handed the other one to Emily as she looked at me...her eyes full of sadness.

She put it around her neck as I grabbed her hand and smiled at her. She smiled back and held my hand as we went downstairs to join the others. Once we got down there, I heard dad ask from the kitchen, "Girls...what's with all the dessert in here?" We looked at each other and giggled as dad came into the living room with his hand at his hip.

I shrugged my shoulders and tried not to laugh, "I was craving chocolate daddy so before you guys came back...Zak, Nick, Aaron, Em, and I all decided to make chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake." "Well I'm glad you guys had fun while we weren't here." I smiled at my dad as I went up to him and hugged him tightly. I smiled, "You know I love you daddy." He hugged me back as he chuckled, "I love you too sweetheart."

As we let go, he looked at me, then at Zak, and then back at me.

I asked, "What is it daddy?" "I'm just realizing that I'm going to be a grandfather." Everyone including me couldn't help but to laugh. Just then the doorbell rang as dad went to go pay, but Nick wouldn't let him. So, dad let Nick pay for all the food that we got and I could hear mom say, "Nick, this is so sweet of you. Dinner is here everyone."

Emily and I were sitting next to each other on the couch as we looked at Zak and Nick. I asked them, "Can you guys get our food for us? Please..." I made my puppy dog face on them...it worked as they smiled and left to go to the kitchen. While we were waiting for our food, we decided to browse the TV. Mom came in and sat on the couch with her food. She asked us, "Did you girls find something to put on yet?"

Em and I suddenly squealed as we noticed that the new season premiere of Ghost Adventures was about to come on. I looked to my mom for approval, "Can we watch it? Please please please please mom?!" Mom laughed as she nodded her head and Em and I grinned at each other. Everyone else came in with their food and we got ours.

Aaron asked, "What are we going to watch?" Nick responded, The girls noticed that the new season premiere of the show is tonight. It's about to come on Aaron." Zak said as he sat down next to me, "Nick, Aaron...don't tell everyone what happens for crying out loud, okay." I'm guessing Aaron at times get too excited. We all started to laugh as we watched the show together happily.

~Later That Night~

Zak and I were cuddling in my bed watching a movie, and I suddenly looked up at him.

He asked, "What is it sweetheart?" "It's just sometimes...I kind of miss being a kid, you know. Watching all those shows, taking naps, and everything." "Well honey, sooner or later we will be starting our own family together so I bet you'll get a second chance to do all that." I smiled at Zak as he pecked my lips and I kissed him back. I asked seriously, "Are you positive that you want to get married one day and start a family?"

"Yeah I'm ready sweetie...I'm really all in for it more than anything. You're the only person I have falling so in love with, that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I wouldn't want anyone else in the world but you Crystal. I love you." I grinned big as I responded, "I love you even more Zak." We started to kiss and a couple minutes later I stopped to tell him, "I think I'm ready to move with you to Vegas but....it's going to be hard to leave my family and my closest friend behind."

"I know baby. I'll tell you this...whenever you want to come here to visit, all you have to do is just let me know. Besides, I'm sure Gracie would like some company like you and Bella." "Just promise me something Zak." "What is it honey?" "I know you have spirits in your house and everything but please don't let a demon or whatever get in-control of you. Because I'm afraid that might happen and you will completely change."

Zak grabbed my hand, "Honey I swear that nothing like that will happen. Even if it did somehow I'll fight with every bone in my body for you. But everything will be okay love, trust me." I just hope he's right....We started to make out some and yeah...I'm sure you can guess what happened from there.
